*Cody’s POV*

Focused on getting to the studio before Scooter killed me, I was running. Also from the fans that were trying to get to me.

“Argh!” I heard a girl scream. I looked down and noticed that I ran into a girl- a very pretty one. She had long, straight black hair that complemented her large, brown eyes. She was holding a bag full of books, well, was, until I knocked her over.

“I’m so sorry!” I said, helping her up. She immediately blushed when she saw me. Her eyes twinkled a bit in the sunlight.

“Thanks.” She said quietly, and then sped off. 

How could she have such an effect on me?

*Erica’s POV*

“Thank you for coming! Have a nice day!” The girl, Ems, at the counter said. I was in the bookstore Clouded Minds, and I loved it. They had so many books! I had a bag full of books in my hands. I was concentrated on getting home on time to prepare for the birthday bash I was going too. 

“Argh!” I screamed when a guy came and knocked into me. 

“I’m so sorry!” He said. I looked at him and began blushing. It was Cody Simpson. The Cody Simpson. I gathered my books which had fallen. 

“Thanks.” I muttered. I ran off after that, before he could learn my name or remember me. 

When I got back to my apartment in the middle of L.A, I tried to keep my mind off of him. He was so cute in person! 

I went home to start preparing for my friend Ariana’s birthday. It was Ariana Grande, of course! We’ve always been friends, since we were little kids. 

I put on my black dress that showed off all my curves. I lightly curled my hair and grabbed my clutch. I looked around and locked up my apartment.

I just got to the party, where it was going at full blast. I looked around for people I knew. I saw Jai Brooks from the Janoskians, Justin Bieber, and a lot of other people…including…CODY?

We made eye contact, but I quickly broke it and hid away.

"Ariana Grande!" I screamed over the music to her. She broke away from kissing Jai. Her face cleaerly showed annoyance. 

"What?" She was aggravated. 

"Why didn't you tell me that you knew Cody Fucking Simpson?!?!" I demanded. Her eyes widened then her frown twisted into a a grin. 

"You like him, don't chu?" She said, teasing. 

"Who likes who?" The voice of doom said behind me. My eyes widened. I turned around to face him. 

"None of your business, Avan." Ariana huffed and hit him playfully in the shoulder. He pretended to be hurt. I glared at him. I hadn't forgiven him just yet, but he was still my big brother in a way.

"I'm hurt. But, Erica, soooo?" He said expectantly, pulling a chair out of nowhere. 

"Nothing." I snapped. Then I heard his angelic voice.

"Happy Birthday Ari!"
