"No! I am not going to do this, and this is finale! I don't want to hear about it anymore!" the thick voice of Kim Taehyung, the son of the famous businessman Kim Chang, is heard in the room.
"Taehyung, please, understand! Soobin died two months ago! If I will not do something as fast as I can, his stupid brother-in-law will ruin his company." Kim Chang replies as calm as he can, trying to make the situation easier for both of them.
"You mean, if I don't do something as soon as possible. " Taehyung revolts then glance at his father. "I can hire lawyers, I can pay someone to solve it, but I can't do what you want me to do." he tries his best to make a deal with the white haired-man, but the other one does not seem at all to accept his idea.
The older man sits on a chair, then takes a deep breath. It takes a few seconds until he finds the right words.
"Tae, Soobin wasn't just a business partner or a close friend, he was more like a brother to me. You know how much I cared for him, I care for him now and I will care for him." he begins to speak, while his son listens. "The news of his and his wife's death created a deep emptiness in my heart. That's why I want to honor his death, Tae. I don't want all his twenty-year work, all the company he's built, destroyed because of his damn brother-in-law. The suggestion I gave you is the only way we can truly unite our companies, now that Soobin is no longer alive. " he finishes and they leave their hands on the desk in front of him, then look at his son carefully.
"Dad, I really understand how close you were with uncle Soobin, but I cannot do this. I really can-"
"You have to pretend just one year, Tae. At least until I will prepare Jungkook to take over the company. " the white haired-man cuts his son's reply.
"So you want me to marry him? I have to marry Jungkook, dad? A boy? What will people say? Have you thought about this?" Taehyung raises his voice again, while his father just closes his eyes for a few seconds.
"Jungkook is their only child. And as for what people would say, it wouldn't be the first time they've heard of such a thing in the business world, Tae. Or it's not like you're not bisexual, so I don't see why you pretend to be disgusted. " he whispers the last part but the other hears anyway.
"Does Jungkook even know what you want to do? Or are you going to tell him at the 'altar'?" Taehyung says the last word, making some quotation marks in the air with his fingers.
"I already talked with him yesterday. I explained the situation to him and he agreed. He knows it's the only way to save his father's company."
Taehyung takes a deep breath and then sits down in his leather chair, behind the desk. He then massages his forehead, while closing his eyes for several moments. He knows how much Uncle Soobin helped his father. He knows how much they cared for each other. He knows how much his father cried when he found out about the accident. And he knows he has to help him, because he sees despair and pain in his eyes. In his father's eyes.
"Exactly one year, not even a day in plus." the younger man's voice is calmer this time. "But I'm going to make some rules so we can keep a certain distance from each other. I'm not going to have a wedding, everything that happens will be nothing more than a business. " he continues, and his father rose from his chair, a faint smile on his face.
"Thank you son." the white haired-man replies simply.
"If you have his number, call him. Tell him we have to meet tomorrow to set all the rules. He can come to my company, and from here we'll leave somewhere quieter." he says and his father nods, then leaves the room, not wanting to risk the chance for his son to change his mind.
"Great, I have to live in a lie for a whole damn year." the CEO mumbles to himself, regretting the fact that he accepted the whole stupid suggestion.
But he already knows. All this mess will be nothing but business. Jungkook is just a key to uniting two big companies, and their marriage is just an idiotic contract. And that will never change.
