(Barnacles P.O.V.)

After a silent ride, I signaled to Kwazii that we had arrived, and parked the gup-K.

Kwazii pulled out his phone, and found directions to the place we were looking for.

I had shared the location with him out of pure paranoia. I didn't want him wandering off then getting hurt.

Even if we were right next to each other, there were trees all around that blocked our vision.

I didn't want either of us falling into some random trap that had been set out for us.

That most likely wouldn't happen, but I was going to take every precaution.

For some reason, I had a very bad feeling about the whole trip.

"What do you think we're walking straight into, Captain?" Kwazii asked with a laugh.

I knew Kwazii meant it as a joke, but it could be just as true as it could be false.

We were in the middle of nowhere in hot, humid weather.

Kwazii didn't mind too much, but he knew I did.

I hated warm weather, mainly because I got overheated quite easily.

Whoever we were meeting knew that they had the advantage here.

Even if this person had never been in a jungle before, me and Kwazii had been living under the water for years.

Plus, it had been years since I had stayed in humid temperatures like where we were now.

The last time I had, I was probably around fifteen, maybe older.

If we were going to be there for a while, it was going to be a bit of a new experience.

I prayed that we were going to just be in and out. But even if we were, it still wouldn't explain where Bianca was.

Maybe something happened back at her home, and it's holding her back from communicating another way.

Maybe, when she comes back and learns that Kwazii and I are out looking for her, she would feel horrible about being out of service longer than expected.

I suddenly remembered that I was asked a question.

"Snares, maybe a leghold, if these people are getting creative," I replied with a smirk.

Laughter is the best medicine, right?

"It's so hot out here that if we were to get caught in one, our foot would just melt clean off, aye?" Kwazii joked.

I replied with a small chuckle.

I hated the heat, and I could already feel myself getting dehydrated.

Me and Kwazii only seemed to be walking in circles.
But after a while, Kwazii thought he heard something.

I slowed my walk to leave room for sound to travel.

I noticed the look on Kwazii's face, and rather than asking what was going on decided to stay quiet.

Suddenly, Kwazii stopped dead in his tracks.
He must have heard something.

It was likely that it was just a bird or maybe an animal, but in our current situation, it's likely he was really hearing something.

It could be that I was so lost in thought that I had forgotten about the world around me, but even then out in the middle of a sweaty nowhere, no one could be a hundred percent sure about what they were hearing.
