The dark clouds loomed over the tower as the rain began to pour down, soaking the plants in the garden.

A flash of lightning and a roll of thunder echo along the walls of the place.

It was almost like the weather was mourning over the loss of Queen well ex-Queen Irene.

Her one and only daughter, a slim beautiful blonde, Alessandra, lays over her dead body crying hot tears of grief and sorrow.

"She's really gone?" she cries out not understanding why God took those most close to us away.

"Alessandra, she's in a better place now." her aunt, Sage, encourages the young girl by patting her back in comforting circles.

"That doesn't change the fact that she's gone!" the blonde yells.

She didn't mean for her words to come out so harshly but in all fairness she is in an incredibly emotional state right now as she had just lost her mother.

The woman who raised her and made her feel loved considering that her father wanted nothing to do with her since she was not a male heir to the throne.

Aunt Sage watches over her with weary eyes unsure of what to do or say to get the girl to leave her mother's bedside.

She had been there for two days straight.

Bishop Richard enters the bedroom chamber clearing his throat in greeting.

"Bishop Richard, how can we help you?" Sage questions.

"Irene is to be buried tomorrow. They need to prepare her body so Alessandra will need to leave." He tries to say gently in order to not upset the girl but she grows up set anyway.

"I will not leave her!" she yells out but her voice cracks as she says "I can't leave her."

"Honey, you will never leave her. She will always be with you." the Bishop informs Alessandra.

"I..." Alessandra starts not knowing where to begin.

She slowly removes herself from her mother's bedside finally giving into the advice of those around her but she doesn't last long on her own two feet as her body is quickly crashing onto the floor.

"For heaven's sake! Has she not had anything to eat!" Bishop Richard gasps in frustration.

"She wouldn't eat. I tried everything." Sage replies as they both move to elevate Alessandra's head.

Aunt Sage motions for one of the ladies in waiting to bring her a bucket of water to splash on Alessandra's face.

After about a minute or so she comes to.

"You need to eat." is all the Bishop says as he exits the room.

Alessandra lets out a sigh before Sage helps her stand on her feet again.

"Bring food to my chamber, please." she requests as she moves to her room.

Alessandra ate her meal alone in her room.

That had been the first time she had ever done that.

Her mother and her would eat every meal together.

This concept was foreign to her and left her emotionally exhausted.

Once she finished her meal she prepared for bed.

The following morning she stands in front of her mirror analyzing every detail of the black dress she was given for the funeral.

She desperately wishes she could go back and change time.
