"Are you ready?" Sampson questions the blonde as they sit side by side in the cabin.
"No, but I'm gonna have to be." Alessandra nervously chuckles next to him.
"I'll be right by your side." he tells her.
All he cares about is making Alessandra feel comfortable and loved as they get ready to spend time with her father.
He knows how much she dislikes him.
Unfortunately, duty calls.
Alessandra squeezes his hand as they pull up in front of the palace.
He takes his time getting out of the carriage and helping her down to buy them as much time as possible.
"Alessandra, darling!" they hear the cheerful voice of King Jasper.
Breathe Alessandra repeats over and over again in her head.
"Father!" she smiles trying to appear fine.
"And...Adelaine." she states not expecting to see the brunette out and about so soon after giving birth.
"Shouldn't you still be resting?" the blonde questions.
"Oh, well.. I actually had the baby a little over a month ago. We decided to wait till you and Sampson's honeymoon phase came to a closure before we announced our news. Didn't want to spoil your fun." Adelaine explains.
"Ooh um how thoughtful." Alessandra says.
"Yes, very thoughtful, sir." Sampson speaks looking at King Jasper.
"Sampson, we're family now.. Call me Jasper!" he beams.
Alessandra notices how happy her father seems to be which is uncharacteristic of him.
"Well, we've had enough time to just stand here, let's go on inside so you can see the baby!" Jasper grins.
"Of course." Sampson acknowledges him matching his smile.
The four of them make small talk as they make their way to the nursery.
When they approach the door Adelaine turns to Sampson and Alessandra.
"Here we go." she excitedly cheers.
She opens the door leading the two to the crib in the corner.
They all hover around the baby.
"So precious." Alessandra smiles seeing the baby.
"Meet Little Prince Jasper II." Adelaine grins.
Alessandra's smiles drop though as she catches on to the name.
She had a boy...something her mother and the women that came after her couldn't do.
She awkwardly clears her throat.
"Congrats! He..he um has your eyes." she weakly smiles at Adelaine.
"You can pick him up if you'd like." Adelaine replies with smug.
Alessandra lifts the baby into her arms.
The baby grabs onto her hand causing her to chuckle slightly.
"Hi Jasper." she whispers.
Sampson comes up behind her placing his arms around her waist in comfort.
"I'm your big sister." she says as a single tear falls from her cheek.
"I'm so happy you two could finally meet!" King Jasper smiles.
