The sky turned into a warm orange coloured with some red highlight as the blonde girl and the cold guy walked out of the school. They went home a bit late thabks for the cleaning duty.
Usually they talked to each other, and Kano would messing with him and Kido gave her a lecture all the way home. But this time, only sound of the passenger's chatter or vehicle's sound.
The silence started to fill the air, making an awkward situation as the two of them walking together.
Kano knew she had to do something, but after the 'accident', she's unsure to know what to do or what to say. In the other side, Kido knew and he wanted to talk about something, but he was afraid. Afraid to know and hear what Kano would say.
"K-Kido!"
"Hey idiot."
Another awkward pressure filled the air.
"You go first," Kido said as he looked at the streets, avoiding eye contact as hard as he could.
"O-okay...," Kano chirped. A slight bright hue spread on her face. "W-why did you... K-kiss me...?" She asked, her voice was too small, nearly in whispers but Kido still could hear it.
That question was the least question he wanted to hear. He cleared his throat and breathed some air. "I... Uh... I-I don't really know myself...," he admitted. Kano's jaw dropped.
'He kissed me for nothing?!' She thought, but soon she shook her head and looked to the street as she walked.
Her head was full of her own thoughts. She even didn't hear what Kido said but then she felt her hoodie was being pulled away.
She was too shocked as a large truck passed by her. She blinked one time, two times before she regained her consciousness.
"Geez. Can you look around before you start crossing the street?! You could've been killed!"
Kano turned her head to see her saviour. Kido growled angrily as he stood and began scowling at her.
Kano still didn't understand even if she's already found the truth. But one question.
Why?
Why would he saved her? She wasn't someone who had the most impact in Kido's life. She's just a trouble maker, a thief, a liar. She didn't worthy to be saved by someone like Kido. But he did.
Why would he protect her? Kano learned some martial arts. She learned how to defend herself since the day she lost her mother. She could protect herself and she just pretend to be the loser along her bullier.
Why didnt she dodge it by herself? Kano could just use her power to deceive the truck driver, but her mind didn't ready. Her feet and her mind froze as she looked at the truck, but again, the grain haired man helped her.
"But... Why...?"
Kido looked at her as he heard her mutters. He sighed and hit her head.
"Ow!" The blonde winced, rubbing and protecting her head incase he wanted to do it again.
"You're my family, my friend..." He turned away.
"And my girlfriend."
Kano sweared that she misheard it, but she didn't. "Wha-?!"
"But don't misunderstand it! You're so stubborn, clumsy, and idiot. I have to find a way to keep close with you and being your boyfriend is an efficient way," she explained.
Kano giggled silently when he said it all. She didn't know if Kido liked her because he never showed his true feelings.
She giggled and stuck her tongue at him. "You're not a good liar, y'know?" She said and laughed.
Kido frowned and started gushing her head with his lecture. Kano didn't mind it, as long as the quiet boy being a talkative ones.
"Oh yeah, I almost forgot. You're in charge to clean the bathroom for the next month."
"Eh~? Why should I? I didn't do anything wrong!"
"And forced me to pull your hood so you wouldn't get killed? Hah, that's ridiculous."
"But Kido~ a month is way too long! Please reduce my work~ I swear I'll get better on my grades, and helping you out!"
"Agrh... Fine, two weeks bathroom duty and you will help me prepare dinner later."
"Aye aye, sir!"
