"Kirah!, Uncle Phil's here!" Kay jumped on my bed.

"Philip"? I asked getting up. "Yeah.. and he's asking bout you. I think he wants to meet you." She chuckled.

"Why are you laughing?" I asked, stretching. "Look at the mirror to find out". She grinned.

I stared at her quizzically before getting up to check the mirror.

My hair was in a total mess! And there were colours on my face. Red on my forehead, green on my lips and others.

"Kay!" I screamed, frustrated. "Yesssss". She whined, grinning. "Did you do this? Coz Kathy can't do this". I folded my arms.

Why was i even asking?

"How are you sure she can't do this?" She smiled. "She's an adult and she's reasonable duh!" I replied her.

"What do you mean? I'm offended". She folded her arms and i rolled my eyes.

I went to the bathroom to wash the paints off. "Uncle Phil's waiting for you." She laughed, literarily running out.

I sighed and cleaned my face with a towel. I packed my hair into a bun stepped into my sweatpants ans went out.

"Tykirah! You've grown up do fast!" Phil smiled and hugged me.

What? Didn't he see me last two weeks to tell me dad has already left us?

I forced a smile back.

"How're you doing?" He asked.

"I'm good." I replied plainly.

"Good". He muttered.

He then turned to Kay. "Kaylee, where's Kathy? Don't tell me you guys have been staying alone". He started panicking.

"Geez Phil! Don't freak out. She just went out to get candies and chocolates for Kay at the mall!" I face palmed myself.

"Oh. Great then." He sighed.

"I got you some stuffs. Go check my car." He smiled and Kay clapped her hands excitedly.

He sure knows how to get children.

"So, Tykirah... Barry was a good man...." He started. Oh Lord of Venus! Lecture time!

Phil's my dad's younger brother. Barry's my dad.

"Uhm... Phil? I have an online class by 1:30pm." I lied.

"Oh. What class". He asked me. "Erm... Spanish?" I said-asked.

"Are you telling me to come back some other time? Y'know, I'm a busy man.... I have to..."

"No i been you should just tell me what you have to. Kay would soon come say you forgot to get her pink shoe." I told him.

I'm pretty sure he forgot to get her pink shoe.

"Oh yes! My bad! I forgot to buy it". He ran his hands over his head in worry.

He sure did.

"So... As a family, we have a responsibility". He paused and I yawned. He won't ever stop beating around the bush.

"Well, we can't trust Kathy with you guys." He finished.

The hell?! Don't tell me it's what I'm thinking

"What? Why? She's been with us since mom died. What's it? Just that dad is no longer here." I rushed.

"That's the point. It was safe coz Barry was here. Now, he's not. I don't feel safe with her taking care of you guys. By the way, you got a family! We can't let a stranger have you!" He pointed out.
