"C-Can I be done now?" Jax asks, voice shaking.
Both vampires immediately assure him he can.
"Sorry I didn't help that much." Jax whispers, getting up from the couch.
"You helped more then you realize, kid. Thank you." Victor says, thinking over the five minute conversation between Jax and the brothers.
The brother were shocked beyond belief.
Jax quickly scurries to where his "sister" is, and sits on the bed, careful not to disturb her, just carefully watching as she takes tiny, but deep breaths. Kaila's chest rises, and then falls, over and over again.
"I promised you the day that we left that horrid place you would never have to worry about Master again. I'm so sorry, Kaila. I am such a bad brother." Jax says, before he gently weeps.
The two vampires listen into what Jax told Kaila, and the brothers both have teary eyes.
"How do you expect a sixteen year old to take care of a little girl?" William asks.
All he can get out of his older brother is a sad shake of his head.
Back with Jax, his weeping slowly ceases, and Jax crawls into the bed, right beside his sister.
After he finally let's sleep take him, Victor and William arrive in the room, sitting down in arm chairs, watching the pups.
