sunwoo was once again up on the rooftop, lying on his back on the cold concrete and looking up at the sky.
he didn't know why he kept bothering to go to morning classes when he didn't want to attend them if eric wasn't there with him. he could've been warm in bed right now and most likely sleeping.
he didn't even see chanhee on the train that day so it once again felt like a normal morning. the first normal one he had in a few days so far. he couldn't help but wonder if he was going to stop seeing chanhee around once his car was repaired and he didn't have to keep taking the train. maybe not seeing him was the answer to his question.
not that it bothered him. he only truly hung out with chanhee twice which felt like absolutely enough for him. he started appreciating the older boy's company little by little but it wasn't like he was all of a sudden depending on it. he was just getting kind of used to the thought that he had to expect he would pop up from somewhere at any moment.
which is exactly why he wasn't surprised that when he heard someone going up on the stairs to the rooftop it turned out to be no one other than choi chanhee himself in his full glory. he had a wide smile on his face as usual.
"didn't expect to see you here," chanhee stated, obvious in his voice that he was joking. "the universe just keeps putting us at the same place at the same time." he sat down next to sunwoo and set his bag aside, leaving his jacket on top of it.
as if, sunwoo thought as he rolled his eyes at chanhee, receiving a chuckle from the latter. he didn't really believe in such things though he was already getting more and more convinced that this was no coincidence at all.
the younger sat up and stretched his back and arms, already feeling how he was going to catch a cold from the amount of time he was lying down there. his bones cracked so hard that it even hurt him a little.
"very fortunately for you though," the pink haired boy mentioned, "my car was quickly repaired and i went to pick it up today so you won't have to see me on the train anymore. unless you'd want me to drive you to uni," he teased. "since we live in the same area it wouldn't be a bother for me anyways. so if you ever need a drive just call me."
sunwoo raised an eyebrow at him, heavily reminding him that he still had no intentions on talking to him nor did he have any idea on how to approach him especially if he needed a ride or anything else from him. even in this situation he didn't know what to tell him. he had nothing to say. was he supposed to kindly decline the offer? or was he just supposed to say "okay" and nothing else? that would've sounded rude.
"okay, okay, or you can just text me," chanhee added.
usually, sunwoo wasn't like this.
he had never found himself in a situation where he had nothing to say to someone.
it really started with not having the opportunity to reply to him the times when chanhee was so in his own little world that he wasn't even waiting for a reply. after that sunwoo was way too annoyed by him and was left with a bad impression that chanhee was a little bit too full of himself therefore he didn't want to talk to him.
now he just had to think too long for a reply, careful that he wouldn't say the wrong thing.
his opinion on chanhee hadn't changed much though. he still thought the older was too full of himself and that he was being a little bit too pushy now that he had decided he wanted to be friends with sunwoo. the younger wasn't one who was used to having his personal space invaded so easily by strangers or even by most of his friends - of course eric being the biggest exception.
but at least he was trying to give chanhee a chance and let him be his friend until he was bored of sunwoo not talking and wanted to find someone more interesting to annoy.
anyways.
why did sunwoo even overanalyze chanhee's actions and behavior so much as if he was trying to figure out what kind of person he really was? why was he constantly on his mind? he was supposed to be annoyed by his presence not try and be friends with him.
he was obviously very conflicted about his own thoughts and feelings towards chanhee. they weren't exactly negative but he knew for sure that they weren't a hundred percent positive either.
maybe this wasn't the right time to sort this out with himself.
"you know, sunwoo, you're so weird," the older thought out loud, interrupting sunwoo's thoughts. "i really can't imagine you hanging out normally with someone and not saying anything at all at any point. i even think you actually like talking. i just can't figure out why you've decided you just can't talk to me like that."
"what use do you have from me talking to you anyways?" sunwoo questioned.
chanhee thought for a moment with a slight frown. "i'm not talking to you just because i or you would get any use out of it, what are you even talking about? i'm just trying to be friends with you. we end up at the same place all the time either way. meeting new people won't hurt you."
the red haired boy hummed and lied back down, closing his eyes. "maybe you have a point."
