I threw two t-shirts, jeans and a hoody into my backpack and grabbed some bread and cheese. I pulled on my shoes as I fell out the door and landed with a thud on my mothers neat and orderly flowerbeds squashing its contents completely. 'She would kill me for this,' I think as I roll in the most ungraceful way onto my feet. 'I guess she'll never know,' I mumble to myself as I slowly start to walk away from, what I used to call home. I don't have any plans apart from that I intend to leave and never come back. I have started my journey - my journey into the woods.
~~~
I was about one kilometre in and was having a drink from a nearby stream when I heard the sound of twigs cracking, that was the first time I saw him ... I was freaking out, given it was only just past 4 in the morning, so I hurriedly screwed the top on my drink bottle and rushed off in the opposite direction.
~~~
I had been walking all day so I decided to settle down for the night, before it got too dark. I made a hut from fallen branches, chucked my backpack inside and went off in search for any source of Forrest food.
My dad taught me when I was young what berries and mushrooms weren't poisonous and how to make a fire from two twigs. I've always wanted to join club scouts but my parents never let me. My parents were always very protective over me and never let me into the woods, that's why I'm so curious. I've been preparing for three years and I've decided I'm ready to face whatever obstacles I might have to overcome.
After I had scouted the area thoroughly, I decided I'd just eat the rest of my bread and cheese. When I arrived back at my make-do hut, I noticed a large leaf with perfectly cooked mushrooms with some blackberries. I was so hungry, I gobbled it all down without even taking in what had just happened. I had arrived back to dinner already cooked in the middle is nowhere, don't you think there is something a tad wrong with that? Anyway, my stomach had guided me straight to the food without even realising the leaf scroll next to it. After all this sudden realisation, I picked up the scroll and started to read;
'I have been watching you since you moved in'
I was totally creeped out so I chucked on my hoodie, went into my hut, and fell asleep.
