"You ok up there?"

Bdubs stared into the dark emptiness of the attic with a shiver, hearing Impulse's voice from below.

"Yup!" He responded, going to turn on his flashlight. The beam from the light did not illuminate much, but it was enough to see the wall in front of him. Bdubs angled his flashlight up, feeling the ceiling looming over him uncomfortably.

"It's really small up here-" Bdubs noted. From below him through the small attic door Bdubs could hear Skizz laugh.

"Of course man! It's an attic!" Skizz shouted up at him. Bdubs rolled his eyes and turned to look around the dark attic once more. "See any ghosts?" There wasn't much up there, other than a few dusty boxes and cobwebs. Bdubs moved back over to the attic hole and looked down at Skizz. Behind him, Bdubs could see everyone standing in the hall and the dining room.

"It doesn't work like that!" Bdubs retorted. "It takes a second." From behind Skizz, Tango came around and held up the tripod towards Bdubs.

"Here, set this up so we can see from down here." Tango said, Bdubs reached down and took it from him with a nod.

"Wait can't we just go up there with him?" Bdubs heard Grian ask. He watched Tango turn around towards Grian's voice.

"Ghost might not respond to multiple people, best to let Bdubs go up alone first. He is the bait after all!" Tango explained with a bit too much enthusiasm. Bdubs laughed nervously.

"Bait? Is that really your role in this!?" Scott questioned, hearing his footsteps move closer to the hall until Bdubs could see him.

"Yup!" Bdubs smiled awkwardly before pulling the tripod up and setting it on its stand. Bdubs heard the attic door creek shut as Tango closed it. He moved across the attic and set it up near one of the slanted walls. He pushed the small red button on the device, causing it to flicker on with a buzz. "Right, let's see if there really is a Ghost up here." He couldn't see what everyone was doing downstairs now, but knew they could all see him. Bdubs stepped back from the camera, pointing his flashlight behind him to make sure he didn't step on anything. From his hoodie pocket, Bdubs pulled out a spirit box. The small grey box looked almost like a walkie talkie. As he turned it on, a loud rhythmic static filled the room, stabbing at Bdubs ears. He winced at the noise.

"I hate this thing!" Bdubs yelled over the screaming device, holding the device away from him. Impulse and the others were probably laughing at him. He let his ears get somewhat used to the sound before bringing it closer to him. The small screen on it switches numbers quickly as it swapped between different radio signals. 'Lets see if this ghost likes to talk,'

"Hello?" Bdubs said loudly, trying to hear himself over the crackling radio. "If you can hear me, say something." His voice faded out, leaving him standing there. He directed his flashlight around him. He felt himself silently praying that there would be nothing up there, but he needed something to be. For a moment, everything felt quiet, despite the spirit box's loud static. "Come on, come on." Bdubs muttered to himself, feeling a bit silly as he looked over at the camera. Suddenly, the static broke for a second.

"⍑ ᒷ ꖎ ꖎ 𝙹 ?"

It sounded almost like a small mumble. Bdubs jumped. "Y'all heard that right?!" He screamed, his eyes widened as he stared into the camera lens. Not getting a response, Bdubs stared back down at the spirit box, pointing his flashlight directly at it. "Can you say that again?" Bdubs waited for a second, feeling his heart start to beat quickly. The room went dark as Bdubs's flashlight flickered off. He felt a shiver run up his arm as he felt something cold on his hand. Bdubs tensed up, stumbling backwards in the darkness.
