Sometimes working at a pretzel shop is really nice. Free pretzels, good tips, and competitive pay. The whole nine yards. Most of the time though... it sucks ass.

A loud "BANG", can be heard through the mall, nearly empty so early in the morning. It's followed by a soft, "Fuck," from a dark haired teen who is glaring at a fallen pan he had just taken out of the oven.

"Shit, Nico are you okay?," a manager called from the back where she was taking inventory. "Yeah Sam, I'm fine I just dropped some pretzels." Looking down Sam could see that "some pretzels" was a gross understatement. Scattered on the floor were enough pretzel bites to fill the warmer and then some. "Well damn dude, uh it's okay I've done it too. Just grab the broom and I'll start making another batch."

Nico just nodded his head and went to the back where they kept cleaning supplies and then started sweeping.

A cheery, "Good morning!", drew Nico out of his sulking as he rushed to the register saying, "Good- good morning! How can I help you!" As he looked up he recognized the person and from the look on the other's face, they recognized him as well. "Hey, Will. What are you doing here?"

Will Solace. He had met him in his Junior year art class and during the first year of virtual school. They had collaborated on a few projects then and were in the same class again this year. Both had each other's number and they talked every once in awhile outside of class.

"Hey Nick! You mentioned yesterday that you had work, and I was planning on going to the mall, so I thought I'd just uh stop by." Will started to trail off as he bounced on the balls of his feet.

Nico smiled, thankful for the mask hiding his slight blush, "That was cool of you man, it's good to finally see you in person." At this point his manager was glancing over from where she was at the oven, every few seconds. Will just shrugged sheepishly, "Yeah, well, while I'm here I'll get a frozen lemonade, some of the pizza bites, and a-uh a date with you after your shift ends?"

Nico's entire face flushed as he tried to sputter out a response. At this point Sam skipped over to throw her arm around Nico's shoulder while winking at him, "Don't worry about the price man. You can be covered in Nick's discount, since you're dating," and then leaning over the counter to stage whisper, "He's been crushing on you since forever," before walking over to the warmer and grabbing the food.

"So, is that a yes?" Will asked, hopeful. Nico quickly nodded saying, "Yes! I- yeah , I would love to go out. My shift ends around four, is that okay?"

"It's a date. I'll meet you here after work." After saying this Will left, completely forgetting his food and drink.
