**Austin's P.O.V.**

I watched Sebrina step out of the elevator with Ander trailing behind her like a lost puppy. They exchanged a few words, then she headed straight into my office. She gave me a polite smile, but I could sense the tension in her.

“Sir, do you need anything?” she asked, keeping her voice neutral.

I stepped a little closer but kept a respectable distance. “You never told me you had fans around here.”

Her brows knitted together in confusion. “Excuse me?”

“Yeah, I saw your little *fancy drama* with Ander outside my office.” My tone was teasing, but her eyes narrowed, clearly not amused.

“I’m glad you enjoyed the show,” she shot back, her tone dripping with sarcasm.

“Who said I enjoyed it?”

Her eyes flared with annoyance, and I couldn’t help but smirk. “Ms. Flores, I don’t like my employees roaming the building like it’s a garden. If you want to hang out, do it somewhere else.”

Her lips thinned, but she kept her composure. “It won’t happen again.” With that, she turned on her heel and walked out, clearly not pleased.

I leaned back in my chair, satisfied. Not that I was actually jealous. No, of course not.

As I settled back into work, my phone buzzed.

Valeria: Don’t forget we have a date tonight, my love. ❤

Austin: Yeah, I’ll be there on time.

Valeria—my distraction from this chaotic world. Smart, sexy, confident. We were dating casually, nothing too serious, but she was a good escape from all the nonsense.

Time flew by, and before I knew it, Sebrina was back at my door with a stack of files in her arms.

“Sir, I need your signature on these,” she said, looking a little frazzled. I took the files, placing them on my desk.

“You’ve done enough for today. It’s almost 6 p.m. You should head home.”

Her eyes widened as if she had lost track of time. She nodded and started to leave.

Before she reached the door, I called out, “Wait. Do you need a ride home? I can drop you off.”

She paused, clearly caught off guard. “Thank you, but I’ll manage.” With that, she gathered her things and left my office.

I grabbed my coat and headed for the elevator. I didn’t expect her to accept my offer, but something about Ander being around her bothered me. As I reached the parking lot, I saw them together again.

Ander was waiting for her, flashing his big grin. He reached out to hug her, but she stepped back, keeping some distance. That’s when Ander’s eyes met mine.

“Mr. Hunt, good evening,” he greeted me with that same fake smile. Sebrina glanced over at me too, but I ignored them both, heading straight to my car.

I couldn’t care less about Ander, especially now that I was his boss. He’d better stay in line, or we’d have a problem.

**Sebrina's P.O.V.**

"Where exactly are we going?" I asked, starting to feel uneasy as Ander drove.

“Relax. I just want to talk somewhere quiet,” he replied, pulling into the parking lot of a fancy restaurant.

I followed him inside, not really in the mood for whatever emotional rollercoaster he was about to put me through. As we sat down, he pulled out a chair for me, acting like a perfect gentleman. I could feel his eyes on me the entire time, which only made me more uncomfortable.

“I think we should order drinks first,” I said, trying to break the awkwardness.

“As you wish, ma’am,” he winked, clearly trying to lighten the mood. I rolled my eyes. Some things never change.

My phone buzzed, and I saw a text from my brother.

**Baby Hulk**: Don’t wait for me at dinner. Hanging with friends. Call me when you get home. And eat something! You’re way too skinny.
**Sebrina**: Okay, but don’t stay out too late.

Ander’s voice interrupted my texting. “Boyfriend?”

I raised an eyebrow at him. “Why do you always assume that?”

“You looked pretty happy when you got that text.” He sighed, jealousy dripping from his words.

“It’s Polo. He’s just reminding me to eat and get home safely.”

Ander looked a bit embarrassed. “I ordered your favorite—white wine.”

I nodded as the waiter poured the wine into our glasses. But I wasn’t in the mood for pleasantries. “So, what exactly do you want to talk about?”

He looked down for a moment before meeting my eyes. “First, I want to apologize for the way I treated you. I know I was cold... and irresponsible.”

I scoffed. “Nice of you to realize it *now*.”

“Seb, let me finish,” he pleaded.

I crossed my arms but stayed quiet.

“I know I hurt you, and I hate myself for it. I tried to be there for you, but I was so focused on my own life that I let you down. I never cheated on you—”

“That’s true,” I interrupted. “You didn’t cheat. But you hurt me in a thousand other ways.”

He winced but continued, “I know. I was selfish. But I never stopped caring about you. Not for one second.”

I felt my chest tighten. I didn’t want to have this conversation, not after all these years. “You say that now, but when I needed you the most, you were nowhere to be found. Not even at my parents’ funeral.”

Tears welled in my eyes, and I quickly wiped them away. His face was full of regret.

“I wanted to come. I did, but I—”

“You didn’t. That’s all that matters.” My voice cracked as I fought to hold back more tears.

“I’m sorry,” he whispered, his voice breaking. “I never moved on, Seb. You’re the only girl I’ve ever loved.”

I shook my head. “You can’t just waltz back into my life and expect things to go back to the way they were. You left me. You broke *us*.”

He reached out for my hand, but I pulled away. “Please give me another chance. I can fix this.”

I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. “You can’t fix what’s already broken, Ander. You made your choice, and now we both have to live with it.”

He looked crushed, but I wasn’t going to fall for him again. Not this time.

After some awkward silence, he changed the subject. “How’s Polo doing?”

I appreciated the shift. “He’s doing well.”

We ate in relative peace after that, talking about college memories and his family. Despite everything, there was still a strange comfort between us. We were like an old, mismatched duo—bickering one second, laughing the next.

As we left the restaurant, something caught my eye. Standing by the entrance was Austin, looking ridiculously handsome in a simple white t-shirt and jeans, with a stunning blonde girl hanging on his arm.

Our eyes met, and he smirked, heading straight toward us.

“So, he’s the reason you turned down my ride earlier?” he quipped, raising an eyebrow.

Before Ander could respond, I cut him off. “Have a nice evening, *sir*.” I grabbed Ander’s arm and quickly walked away.

But as I glanced back, I couldn’t help but wonder who she was. His girlfriend? A fling? Whatever. I didn’t care.

At least, that’s what I kept telling myself.
