You maintained eye contact for a few seconds before finally giving in, defeated by her demanding stare. "As you wish", you said in a bittersweet tone, causing a triumphant smirk to spread across her face.
Kostas watched the scene in front of him unfold with uncanny amazement. "Didn't think I'd ever live to see the day someone has you on the short leash."
"No one has me-"
"Cate, maybe you can teach me because I've been trying to get this rebel to listen to me for years."
"Oh, definitely!" The two of them continued laughing, completely ignoring your ever so growing frustration.
Fuckin' unbelievable. "Trevor", you said, turning around to look at him, "Please, escort our guest of honour to the bar and pour her a glass of wine of her choosing. Oh, and bring me my favourite."
The waiter quickly moved to the door, holding it open for the actor who glanced at you, clearly amused by your reaction, before finally walking out, with the young lad trailing behind her.
You walked to one of the cupboards and pulled out a dark marine apron. You folded the fabric in two in the middle and tied it around you, letting it cover your body from the waist down. Once you were confident that your clothes would not get stained, you moved to the sink and began to wash your hands.
"She's beautiful. Where did you find such a-"
"Kostas."
"Is there something going on between-"
"Kostas." You took a few steps away from him in annoyance and grabbed one of the cutting boards that was hanging beside you, setting it on the metal countertop.
"You should cook moussaka for her. I made it for Julie when we met, and she instantly fell-"
"Kostas!"
"Why are you screaming?" asked the blonde, who was back with a glass of wine in each hand. Knowing Cate, she probably ditched Trevor on the way, reassuring him that she'll manage on her own in such a persuasive manner that he had no other choice than to let her bring it herself.
"Just excited for what's to come." She handed you one of the glasses, and you took a sip, enjoying the exquisite taste. You noticed that she chose the same one for herself, and the thought of her wanting to try your favourite things made you smile internally. "Do you have any preferences, my lady, as to what I shall serve you tonight?"
She giggled at your dramatic tone, "No red meat and as little wheat as possible, please."
For once, Kostas had a great idea. "I know just the thing, a traditional Greek dish."
"I'll get you everything you need", the man said, winking at you, and walked away.
You picked up a knife and checked if it was sharp enough for your liking. Your uncle came back a few moments later carrying vegetables and meat. "I thought the turkey would be a good replacement for the beef."
"Yes, thank you."
You took two deep pans and placed them on the stove, pouring a bit of oil into both before leaving them to warm up. You started to cut potatoes, aubergines and courgettes into thin rounds as the Greek man spoke up again, "So, Cate, what do you do?"
"I'm an actor."
He paused and looked at her for a few seconds because his eyes suddenly lit up. That's not good. "Oh, yes, that's why your face seemed so familiar to me. You're the one Y/N promised to-"
You shot him the deadliest glare you were ever capable of, forcing him to stop mid-sentence. Kostas quickly understood that he already said too much and immediately retreated under a false excuse that he forgot to bring some spices.
