━ in which Peter is Tony's biological son.
Peter Stark was the definition of a ball of sunshine.
Always bright, smiling and painfully kind.
Nobody could say no to him, not even the black widow or the winter soldier, who were both known for their unforgiving and silent nature. What had caught the reformed avengers off guard was the fact that Tony did indeed have a child two years after being on the run.
Many had thought of him as incapable of caring for one, for being too indulged in his technology and narcissism. They first became aware of it a couple years back through Natasha, who somehow got hold of the information. They eventually got pictures, and when they did, it wasn't hard to believe Peter was of Tony's blood.
His dark brown curls and eyes that resembled his father's were striking, and his pale skin that he inherited from his mother. The boy was adorable, always curious and stuck to his father's side ━ or leg, in most situations. He wasn't that tall for a four year old.
"He has a kid?" Clint whispered, lurched over Natasha's shoulder and eyes glued to the phone. "Are you serious? Tony Stark, a well-renowned playboy, has a child?"
"Yes," Natasha groans, pushing the man away in annoyance. "I said that a thousand times already! He's clearly Tony's." Her phone eventually gets taken from the archer, who scrolls through the photos she somehow managed to obtain (perhaps, some of them think, Tony had remained in contact with the spy.)
"He's a cute kid," Scott comments, cooing. "What's his name?"
"Peter." Natasha answers, arms folded. She ignores Steve's bewildered look, the most shocked out of the group of rogues. Wanda had a bitter look displayed over her face, but no one bothered to comment on it. The witch wasn't going to attend any sort of meeting with the government or with Tony, as she was going to flee with Vision for a domestic life.
"Who's he with?" Sam asks, purely out of curiosity.
"Pepper Potts." Natasha supplies, before anything sour or rude leaves anyone's lips. "She's a sweet woman and can handle Tony's antics, Stark's definitely lucky."
The avengers who were on the run are finally pardoned and come to terms on an adjusted version of the accords, they eventually settle back into the tower awkwardly as Bucky is sent to Wakanda for a year of cryogenic state to remove his brainwashing. The group expected a tense conversation with the billionaire, especially after avoiding one another after the Germany incident.
But it didn't seem to be an issue when a boy with brown curls, dressed in a onesie and holding an iron-man action figure bumped into Natasha's leg, whatever tension there was eased up immediately.
It's a little quiet as the boy lets out a soft 'oof' and stumbles on his feet. He looks up with wide eyes, a little confused at the new visitors. Natasha's unsure of what to do as they stare down at him until Peter decides to break the ice with a wobbly smile.
