You woke up as the first rays of dawn seeped through your bedroom window and spilled across the floor in a golden light. Early Autumn chill nipped at your feet as you crawled out of bed and pushed the blankets behind you.
You were just about to leave your room when a voice called from outside. You spin around, confused, then you noticed that your window was slightly cracked open. No wonder it's so cold, you thought. As you reached the window the voice spoke to you again. "(y/n)?" A Florida accent addressed you. "Look (y/n), I know you're up there, so don't ignore me!"
Rolling your eyes, you pull on some decent clothes and drag yourself outside. "Oh, (y/n)! You look ter- wonderful! You-you look wonderful!" Dream exclaimed as you stepped outside. Not saying anything, you cross your arms and give him an icy glare.
He didn't flinch this time. "Look, (y/n). I wish I could take back everything I did... I honestly do..." He stared at the ground, and you actually felt pity for him. He was all scratched and gross, nothing like the first time you met him in L'manberg.
Dream continued. "I have no idea what got into me," he said, sounding rather pathetic. "I didn't ever want to hurt you. Now, I wouldn't be surprised if you rejected me right now and sent me right back up prison. I know if you betrayed me right before we escaped, I would be livid. But I just want to ask one more time..."
He gave a long sigh, and then glanced back up at you. "Will you forgive me?"
You couldn't take it anymore. You cared for that little cheater, even if he did try to kill Tommy. You had missed him the second he left, and now he was back, begging you for mercy.
You kneeled down, and gave him a long look. "Yes," you murmur. Dream perked up, "Really?" In an instant, you wrap your arms around him and pull him close. "Yes!"
Time passed for who knows how long until you finally loosened your embrace. You gaze down at Dream. "Hey, idiot," you say to him softly. He glared at you, clearly upset by you calling him that. "It's good to have you back," You finish. He relaxed again, "It's good to be back," he murmured.
In a satisfied silence, you and Dream lay sprawled in the grass, gazing up at the clear blue sky.
