atsumu is 10 when he first meets you.
osamu came home from school later than expected; twenty minutes later to be exact and twenty minutes later than atsumu, muttering something about how he was walking with someone else, leaving atsumu to walk home alone.
another unexpected thing was you walking into the house with him, one hand holding the straps of your backpack tightly, the other in osamus. osamu's voice saying something about how wet his socks were, could be heard from the kitchen where atsumu was sitting with their father working on homework.
"osamu? you're home late," their dad left the kitchen and went to the front door with a curious atsumu right behind him, "who's this?"
osamu proudly introduced you as the new kid in his class and his new best friend, making atsumu scowl. the scowl was quickly dropped when atsumu looked at you, his eyes widening. you had a green raincoat on with a matching pair of rain boots, littered with frogs and flowers. you sniffled from the cold, grabbing attention to how wet the two of you were - osamu more than you.
"i fell into a puddle," osamu admitted with red cheeks, when questioned by their father, who smiled and chuckled, "you two should get dry. i'll get some towels,"
as their father left to get towels, osamu gestured for you to take your shoes and jacket off, while he did the same. when both of you had gotten your outerwear off he took your hand and walked over to atsumu, presenting you happily, "(name), this is atsumu, my twin. atsumu, this is (name), my new best friend,"
atsumu gave you a tight lipped smile, waving awkwardly.
"hi atsumu," you grinned, showing your missing front tooth.
the grin you gave him started a fire in his heart.
