Kim Taehyung likes to watch and judge people's lives from his safe haven. One side of his beautiful, neat flat, overlooks a small park, but the back face, the people watching face, that is where all the interesting stuff happens. Today, he is watchi...
'I tried to book the karaoke for this evening, but it's already full,' Taehyung says, 'but it is free now, so if it's ok with you, I thought we could just head straight out and we can eat there too, they do great burgers?'
'Yeah, that sounds good, I'll get my jacket.'
They both grab their coats and Taehyung hails a taxi to take them to the karaoke bar. Once inside they are shown to their booth and choose what they want to eat. Both pick the "New Yorker" burger on Taehyung's recommendation, with all the trimmings and all the sides. Jungkook orders beer to drink, but Taehyung also orders two tequilas.
'Are you trying to get me drunk?' Jungkook asks suspiciously.
'No, I just know I sing better when I'm well oiled,' he says, 'or perhaps I don't sing better, I just care less about singing badly, I'm not sure!' he laughs, 'I'll drink yours if you don't want it.'
'No, I'll have it, I could probably do with loosening up a bit.'
They both slam their tequilas back.
'Right, what do you want to go for?' asks Taehyung.
'Oh no, I'm not going first, you pick,' replies Jungkook.
'Okay.'
Taehyung makes his choice and starts singing Adele's "Someone Like You". When he finishes, Jungkook says,
'Wow, you have an amazing deep voice.'
Jungkook goes next and chooses "Paper Hearts" by Tori Kelly. Taehyung listens intently to Jungkook's singing. He has a sweet voice that suits his personality. He feels extremely moved by the sad song.
'You have a beautiful voice Jungkook,' he tells him.
Jungkook blushes slightly.
'Thanks.'
'Though I am surprised you went for such a slow song.'
'Don't tell me you thought I'd go for Death Grips or something?' he looks scathingly at Taehyung.
'Ok, point taken, I'll stop with the stereotype assumptions.'
'Finally, thank you.'
They both laugh.
It turns out that they both have a thing for sad romantic songs. By the end of the two hour session, they are both singing together like old friends.

The last song they sing is a duet and they are so into it that they turn to face each other, gesturing and looking into each others eyes. As the song finishes, their eyes are still holding on to each other. Taehyung wonders if they might kiss, but doesn't dare move. Just as he thinks he might move in, Jungkook abruptly turns away.
Taehyung says quickly, trying to keep the mood light,
'Well that was fun, thanks for that, have you had enough?'
