When Izzy saw her therapist in the morning she had very few things in her mind, but one was very important.

She didn't want to go away to any sort of recovery centre.

The therapist was accompanied to the door by the housekeeper as Izzy went to the kitchen to find Paula and get herself something to drink.

On her way out the therapist passed by a tall blonde man going inside, she thought she'd hear enough about him to recognise him when she finally met him.

"Detective Bill Kaulitz?" She asked the blonde man, he nodded and they shook hands.

"Yes, who are you?" He asked the woman with wrinkles around her eyes and mouth.

"I'm Anne Martin, Elizabeth's psychologist." The woman said. "I'm glad to meet you, I've heard so much about you in the past few weeks..."

"Good things, I hope." Bill joked.

"Too good." The woman with dark hair replied, which gave Bill a bad feeling. "I'm going to talk to her father, recommend she gets sent to a recovery centre for people who've gone through the same things as she has but..." She looked down at her feet. "Maybe I shouldn't, Graham has been a friend of mine for a while now, I don't see his daughter as a patient so... I believe you're hurting her more than helping."

"Excuse me?"

"I've seen it. She's fond of you, but why? Because you make her feel safe. How will that work for her when you find someone your age? When you get over helping her? She is growing used to you. It's unhealthy. She has to learn to make herself feel safe instead of depending on anyone for that."

"Excuse me, are you supposed to be telling me this?" Bill felt annoyed, but knew that those words were not meant to annoy him but to make him see something he would have never noticed otherwise.

"No. As much as you think you know her, you don't and I probably understand what's going on in her mind better than you do; I'm trying to help." She explained before stepping outside. "Nice meeting you, Mr. Kaulitz."

Bill didn't answer as he walked inside; he found Izzy in the kitchen with Paula the nanny and her little puppy in her lap.

"Detective..." Paula waved. Izzy turned to look at him and he sat down next to her on the kitchen island.

"Paula." He greeted her before turning to the cook. "Ashton."

"Ash for short." Izzy corrected him with a small smile on her face. "What are you doing here today?"

"Well, I just went to see a suspect and I was on the neighbourhood..."

"Of course..." Izzy laughed. "I bet you were."

"Alright, I got a call from Tom, he wanted me to come by, see you before going back to the station."

"That sounds more like it." Izzy took a sip from her tea.

"So how are you? I met your shrink by the door." Bill asked Izzy.

"Well, I'm fine. It's dad who's having a hard time." Paula nodded to Izzy's words. "He blames himself, but it's nobody's fault really."

Bill stared at Izzy's eyes as she spoke, they showed a little bit of sadness but no traces of fear, no signs of that terrible blank stare she had had that night when he picked her up from the ground.

He wouldn't admit but he had been scared, terribly scared to listen to her voice when she had called him that night.

She frowned at him.

"Are you alright?"

"Yeah...I am just thinking this little man could use a walk," he put a hand on the dog's head, "what do you say, huh?"

"I think you might be right, Poh, you coming?" Izzy asked her but she took a glance of Bill's expression and she shook her head.

"Don't be too long."

"Alright, Benji, where's your leash?" Izzy put the little dog on the ground and it ran out of the kitchen. "He gets super excited to the word leash." She smiled up at her blonde friend when they walked out of the kitchen too. "I'll get the leash, you wait here, okay?"

Izzy ran upstairs and found Benji the white dog sitting right next to her bedroom door. She opened it and pulled the leash out from a drawer in her dresser; she put it on around the dog's neck and then ran back downstairs.

"Come on, we're on a schedule!" Izzy grabbed Bill's hand and pulled him along as she kept walking fast.

Thanks to her high height their pace was easily adjusted, Bill kept his eyes on her hand as it held his; they had only walked a few meters away from the gate to her home.

"So when are you going back to school?"

"I was supposed to be back this week but...I guess next week." She said and shrugged. "Your hand is so big..." She pulled their hands up in front of her face and opened her palm as they kept walking slowly. Bill opened his palm too and they looked at their hands, hers was slightly smaller but they both had slim long fingers.

Bill smirked as they realized their hands were almost the same size.

"I could have sworn mine was smaller." She pouted.

"Well it's not." Bill said and intertwined his fingers with hers.

He thought about what that woman had said, he had been getting a lot of calls from her, a lot of invitations for tea, she texted him very often and she seemed to open up and raise like a sunflower when her eyes met his.

They walked slowly, almost lazily around the street.

"I like to read comic books." She admitted. "I know, so common...I just like them. They're colourful and they're fun and unrealistic. What do you do?"

"I..." Bill struggled to think of anything he liked. "I drink beer with my brother, we play cards and talk, I guess."

"What do you talk about?" She turned to him and he pouted as he thought of his last conversation.

"Lately we talk about his girlfriend, a lot." Bill said, Izzy giggled. "It's not really fun."

"Why not? He's in love!" Izzy smiled up at the sky. "You shouldn't put him down; if he likes her and he wants to talk about it with you...let him. Listen to him."

"I wouldn't mind if he wasn't so graphic about his sex life." Izzy blushed and bit on her lip, she was unsure of how to react now. "When I was in high school," Bill noticed her little awkwardness, "I liked to buy fortune cookies and keep the little...messages."

"Do you still have them?" Izzy cheered up.

"Maybe..." Bill smiled down at her as her mouth made a wide O shape.

"You have to show me some time!" She said.

"I will." Bill replied with a serious expression.

Izzy stopped walking and Bill's hand was squeezed as he tried to keep going, she narrowed her eyes at him.

"What?"

"I don't buy it." She said.

"Well I... How can I say it so you'll buy it?" Bill walked back and stood before her with his eyes playfully scanning her serious expression.

"I don't know I feel like you're just bluffing." She accusing him, the dog was sitting on the ground a few steps away.

"I will show you my fortune cookies collection, it's a promise." Bill smiled down at her showing his teeth. She tried to fight the smile tugging at the corners of her own lips. "Oh, come on, you want to smile at me already?" Bill leaned down without realizing. She smiled a bright smile but looked at the side. "There it is!" He let go of her hand and grabbed her face without thinking of what he was doing, he just did what he felt like doing. "That beautiful smile..."

Izzy looked up at his eyes and both of them leaned that little bit closer, the space between them disappeared and each of them closed their eyes as their lips brushed together softly. She had never kissed anyone, not really, it was her first kiss and it felt great, his lips were soft and warm and the way he was holding her made her feel safe, she couldn't let go of the leash but she touched Bill's face softly with her free hand. He didn't know he was giving her her very first kiss but he didn't need to know, he still was sweet and even when he ran his tongue along her bottom lip and her lips parted lightly he wasn't rushed to do anything. She was caressing the skin of his jaw lightly as she accepted his invitation to let her tongue play with his, they didn't pull apart until a few seconds later and then they didn't get too far from each other.

They remained leaning on each other for a few minutes before the barking of Benji, the ridiculously small pet, got them out of their little world.

"On Saturday?" Bill asked. Izzy nodded and they walked back to the house.

"I never collected anything, I'm awful at collections. Even with comics, I've never read an entire series."

"That's not so bad; I mean...at least you finish your sentences." Bill joked and she hit him playfully in the arm.
