"Gojo," I asked, concerned. "Why are you pacing? Please stop, it's driving me nuts."
"Sorry, 'Kari," he muttered before dropping to the ground and sitting cross-legged on my bedroom floor. "I'm just a little distracted right now."
"Then why did you come into my room?" I asked. "You can't just drag all of your problems in here and not tell me what's going on."
"You're right," he sighed. "I guess I owe you an explanation."
"Damn straight," he glared at me when I cursed. "Sorry. Continue."
"Yesterday I sent Yuta and another first year on a mission to exorcise a flock of low-grade Curses at a shopping center," he said. "But after the low-grades were defeated, a grade-one Curse appeared out of nowhere and attacked the two students."
"Are they okay?"
"Yeah, they'll be fine," Gojo sighed. "When I was in school, I had a friend. A best friend. And after graduating, we went our separate ways. I became a teacher and he... well, he lost his way. On of our biggest missions as students required us to escort the Star Plasma Vessel to Master Tengen so that he could merge with her and slow down his aging process-"
"I'm sorry..." I said, cutting him off. "The Star what Vessel? Master who? And what does this have to do with Okkotsu?"
"Sorry, I forgot that there's a lot you still don't know. Master Tengen is basically the 'leader' of Jujutsu society. I'll leave it at that because it makes this story simpler. Tengen is immortal, but he still ages like other humans do. Every five hundred years or so a Star Plasma Vessel appears, and it is their destiny to merge with Tengen to keep him young. During our mission, the Vessel was a young woman named Riko Amanai. She died while my friend and I were escorting her."
"I'm sorry," I said.
"Eh, it's fine. That was a long time ago," he smiled at me, but his smile showed pain. "After the incident, my friend, his name is Suguru Geto, changed. I started to get stronger and he started to change the way he looked at Sorcerers and Non-Sorcerers. Suguru believed that we should live in a society of only Jujutsu Sorcerers and eliminate all Non-Sorcerers."
"W-what?" I said, taken back by Gojo's last comment. "Then why was he attacking the first years?"
"Suguru's Cursed Technique is one above most," he continued. "Cursed Spirit Manipulation. When he defeats a Cursed Spirit, he can ingest it in order to gain control over it permanently. Or at least until it's exorcised by another Sorcerer."
"He..." I gagged. "Eats Cursed Spirits?"
"Yes. it is my belief that he sent the higher-grade Curse after my students in order to force Yuta's Curse out of hiding and ingest her."
"Why?"
"Because Yuta's Curse is probably one of the most powerful Curses known to exist. Other than those along a similar power level of Ryomen Sukuna, of course, but Curses like those are fair and few."
"What are you gonna do?" I asked in a whisper. "Did you tell Principal Yaga?"
"Do you think I should?" he said with his head in his hands.
"I think it'd be wise," I said, sitting in front of him on the floor. "If you weren't alone on this one. Let me fight."
"No." he said, quickly looking at me in disbelief. "No way in hell. You're not trained properly."
"Then train me!" I said. "I've been doing this all by myself. You said you'd help me! So please let me train with the other first years! I can help-"
