Today was the first day in awhile that you and the Black Bulls have had off. The amount of missions you all had been going latley on was starting to become insane. Since you hadn't been back home in awhile you decided that today was as good as any to visit. Plus the kids would be so excited to see you. You smiled at the thought.
"What's got you smiling so early in the morning?" Gauche asked from his spot across from you at the dining table. Your other squad mates having conversations of their own.
"Mhhh, nothing really. I think I'm going to go home for a visit." You stuffed the last piece of Charmy's delicious muffin into your mouth, standing from the table.
"I would do anything to see my sweet Marie." Gauche replied, completely ignoring what you had just said. You rolled your eyes at his usual behavior.
"Well, maybe if you behave yourself and stop bringing her up every other minute Yami would let you go more often." Shrugging your shoulders you turned to go find the man you just mentioned.
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean!?" Gauche yelled after you. You giggled at him as you walked out.

You decided to leave your robe in your room, opting for a more comfortable low-profile look. You let your hair loosely fall down to your shoulders as well. You exited your room making your way down to the common area. By the grace of God or whomever Yami was sitting on the couch reading the newspaper.
"Hey Captain! Good morninggg." You sing-songed as you approached him.
"What do you want y/n?" Always straight to the point.
You smiled at him as his eyes reached your own. "Do you mind if I leave the base for a little and make a visit home?" you asked, eyes shining with excitement.
"Yeah, sure whatever. Tell the ole hag I said hello."
"Thank Captain! And I'll make sure to tell her exactly what you said!" Winking back at him you turned on your heels to leave.
"Don't you dare, I'll kill you myself!" He replied instantly
"Yeah, yeah. You like me to much to kill me." You replied with a wave over your shoulder.

The flight to the Capital was always so peaceful and relaxing. It was one of your favorite things to do, flying on your broom. You felt free and at ease as the wind whipped your hair behind you. You landed on the cobblestone street right outside your destination. You threaded your fingers through your hair to try and rid it of knots. Though, you know that no one inside would mind, they will just be happy to see you.
"Mom! I'm homeee!" You yelled as you walked into the small space. Now that you're older, everything about it feels small. Yet when you were younger, the size alone intimidated you. Thought, a lot of things used to intimidate you.
You heard a stampede of small footsteps echoing down the hall. You couldn't help but smile wide and they all busted into the room.
"Y/n!!" Y/n!" "Y/n" Your name began to ring out through the room. All of varying sounds of loudness and tones. You bent down to their level to embrace them all in a hug.
"We missed you so much!"
"We haven't seen you in so long!"
"Will you tell us your knight stories, pretty please!"
"Are you gonna play with us?" All the children began talking over each other, but you couldn't be any happier.
"Y/n. I told you to stop calling me that you know." A loud stern voice broke out above the rest. You stood up from the group of children as you looked to the woman standing before you.
"I'm sorry, I couldn't resist Sister Theresa." You walked up wrapping your arms around her. She returned the hug engulfing you in her strong arms, instantly filling you with a joy you could never replace. "I missed you." You mumbled into her black nun dress.
"Oh, I missed you too dear." She replied giving you a small chuckle. You broke away when you felt a small tug at the bottom of your pants. You looked down to see Marie smiling up at you.
"Yes?" You said looking down at her.
"Can we play rescue?" She asked looking at you with pleading eyes.
"Oh my gosh, of course!" You replied. All the children giving excited "yays" and screams, some giggling with excitement.
"Where's Asta?" Ethan, the little boy asked pouting. "He was super busy training so he couldn't make it today. But he said he will come next time. He even promised!" You replied ruffling his hair.
"Sister, if you have anything you need to do today, I can look after these rascals for a little bit." You said turning to her.
"That would be wonderful actually. I need to go see Captain Fuegoleon about something." She smiled making her leave.

You had only been there for 2 hours, but the kids were giving you a run for your money, and your sanity. It had only been 3 weeks since you'd last been home but they apparently had been very busy. You now stood in the center of the room, with new brown paper ears stuck to your head and a brown scarf hanging from the back of your pants. The kids said they made them just for you. Marie stat atop your shoulders barking orders at you, since you were now her trusty horse named Clover, meant to help her cross the deep ravine full of lava to rescue all of her friends.
You looked out at the pile of pillows stacked up on the floor. You sweat dropped as you now had to try and clear them by jumping. "Hold on tight, Magic knight Marie!" Just as you were about to start running the front door slammed open breaking everyone's focus from the game.
Blood was dripping from his nose, a stuffed bear in one arm and a bag exploding with different toys in the other. You nearly lost it from the look on his face. Then you remembered what you were wearing and your face heated up instantly, cheeks painted pink.
"Ohh, Hey Gauche. How's it goin?" You gave a small wave.
"What. Are. You. Doing. With. My. Sister." Great, pissing off Gauche was not on your to-do list for today, or any day for that matter.
"Big Brother!!" Marie yelling broke you from your train of thought. You lifted her from your shoulders and put her tiny feet back on the ground. As soon as her feet hit she was in Gauche's arms in seconds. You smiled at the sight, knowing how much it meant to the both of them.
"Okay, who's hungry?" You turned to the rest of the kids. All of them ringing out some sort of confirmation that their tiny bellies were empty.
"Y/n." His voice sent shivers down your spine. But, not in a bad way. You have always found something about him warm and inviting.
"Yes?" You replied turning on your heels scratching the back of your head. The other hand resting on your hip.
"You look ridiculous." He laughed out, pointing to your head.
"Oh shut up! So do you." You mocked, pointing to your own nose. Gauche pulled out a handkerchief and wiped his nose rolling his eyes at you.
"So, are you going to help me make them some lunch?" You asked giving him a small hopefully smile.
"Absolutely not. I came here to spend time with Marie not--" He was cut off by a small voice.
"Oh, please big brother? You make the best food! Pleaseee, pleaseee!" Marie whined gripping his sleeve.
"Anything for you my little angel!" Gauche nearly fell over, his whole demeanor changing completely from a second ago.

You and Gauche were now in the kitchen while the kids continued to play just outside the open door. You kept stealing small glances of him. He was actually smiling as he cut the crust off the sandwiches.
"Thank you." You said turning to face him, giving him a small smile. He grinned back, "It's not a problem, but if you tell anyone about this."
"I won't, I won't. Promise!" You held your hands up in fake surrender. You turned back around to adding fruit to the plates.
"Y/n." Gauche let out.
"Yeah?" You met his eyes with your own.
"I didn't realize that when you said you were going home, that this was home." Gauche stated.
"Oh. yeah...It's not that big of a deal. My backstory isn't all that happy. So I don't really talk about it much. Figure it's not something you all back at the base want to hear." You replied shrugging your shoulders.
"I'd like to hear it actually, I want to know more about you." Gauche said giving you a small smile, his cheeks going slightly pink.
Your face soon mirrored his own. "That sounds like a date to me! not date--I uh, I mean"
Gauche cut you off, "A date. Sounds like a date." You looked at him, eyes going wide. "You know, you looked pretty cute dressed as a horse." He added, giving you a full blown smirk.
"Shut up." You rolled your eyes, but couldn't help the smile that took over your face as you turned back to what you were doing.
Sister Theresa stood in the doorway, her presence going I noticed but the two of you. Her own face graced by a wide smile.
