Chapter 8

"So it's alright?" I asked for the tenth time because her answer wasn't making me feel at ease with the situation. After the bomb dropped and Lexa got mad like we all saw, she completely turned around with a smile. Literary smiling and telling me she wasn't mad.

Like I would believe that.

"Baby, do you." we stood in her office eyeing each other. "I trust you," she kissed my forehead answering a phone call.

Maybe this is the light I've been waiting for, to finally get the peace we all deserve. If she can look passed her anger with Finn then maybe...just maybe I can accept that job offer.

Finally I met up with Finn at a local restaurant, didn't want to meet him alone because my girlfriend is a crazy person with mood swings. Meeting him is one thing, inviting him back into my house is another?

"You look good." he said, pulling me into a hug. "And you smell good as well."

Blushing. "Don't say that."

"What? I can't compliment you now because you're in a relationship?" his accusation and insinuation should have missed me off but I also knew what he was saying. So instead of arguing, I said thank you and changed the subject.

I needed to know how his been doing. The man looks fine, his hair is cut but longer in front. A few strands of hair are falling over his face. Chest puffed out and more displayed from the last time I saw him. Bottom line he was doing fine.

"I missed all of you, especially your mom." He sipped on his drink. "Jealousy is a bad trait and I hate that I let it control me after all the years we've been together." And that's the truth, he was never the manipulating type so when he switched up on me like that, a light bulb went off. Disappointment was the only thing I can associate him with but right now. Sitting with him in this atmosphere reminded me of the man I once knew.

He eat his food while staring at me, looking through me. It made me uncomfortable, just a little. "They miss you too." Bellamy especially, there times he would slip about wanting to share with Finn or call him then hangs up. I didn't like it so I told him not to choose sides, the problem was between me and him and no one else.

"Clarke I'm sorry for coming between you and Lexa, I just didn't think about anyone other than myself." He whipped his mouth, pulled my hand on the middle of the table. I couldn't help looking around. Noticing my behavior he let go and clasped his hands together. "Oh my goodness how's Madi?"

"She's alright, her birthday is coming up soon."

"Time sure flies. She's turning three right?"

I nodded avoiding the memories of him and Madi when Lexa wasn't around. Pulling my phone I showed him videos of Madi. We ended up sitting on the same side. It was as if nothing bad had happened between us. I had my friend back although I'll keep that statement to myself. We went through the job offer, I accepted. Keeping note that I needed to tell Lexa about it later.

We both relaxed and just enjoyed the company, I didn't even notice the time until a familiar voice cut through my spine behind me. Lexa was here with Anya and Alison. All of the sudden I was aware of my shoulder brushing Finn's.

"That's Miss G right?" Anya asked coming around us with quick steps as if she didn't see me through the mirror on the wall in front of us. "Oh yeah it is, what a surprise. How have you been?" I hadn't seen her for a while now. Lexa told me she's opening a new club in sanctum and is spending her time there.

I smiled, stood up and gave her a hug. Alison gave me a tight smile. What's her fucking problem?

"You two are still having...your..." Lexa looked over our table, we had already finished desert and was nursing our cup of coffee. With a heavy sigh "well, let us not disturb you." she turned away over to their table. None of them acknowledged Finn.

"Isn't that the police officer..."

"She's the one." I don't know why the bitch stuck around, it seems Lexa can't make normal friends.

After a few awkward seconds Finn excused himself. When I turned to try and pull Lexa on the side, she wasn't there. Anya was buried deep in conversation with "ALI". Something pulled at me, it was an odd feeling but a nagging one at best. Anya stood up and headed off, trying to clear my head and focus. I sipped on my coffee when I heard commotion from the back.

I turned just in time to see Lexa sucker punch Finn, adding a kick that topped him off the table.

Shit.

Rushing over, I didn't understand Lexa at all, I was sick and tired of her up and down. She had promised not to cause trouble and at the first sight of me and him she flips. "What's wrong with you?" I pushed Lexa back. Her shocked expression ripped through me, did she think I'll give her an award.

This was crazy, she was crazy. I helped Finn up as he held up his hands and walked passed us. The stare off me and I had as some people tried to clean off the mess. I could hear Anya talking to the manager and apologizing. "You make me sick." I hissed through clenched teeth, ran after Finn, I needed to make sure he was alright enough to drive.

What kind of a person just attacks another without any care?

It was always a roller-coaster with her. I should have known, damn her. Just when I wanted to get in Anya tapped on my window. "Anya I don't care what you have to say but she was out of line."

"How so." Now she's defending her sister. Anya chuckled. "So she's a fool for defending your honor. I was there and straight up found him bragging about you and degrading my sister, then when she losses her cool because he said something disrespectful you're mad at her now."

Hold on a second.

Finn did what?

Disappointed she turned and walked away, at this point I don't even know what the truth is.

Lexa paced her room. She told Ontari everything as Josephine listened for the third time. She was there when Anya recited the story to Raven and then called Lexa a few times. So now she just gets to sit back and listen.

It was painfully annoying how she jumped at his side without even knowing the problem. The buffalo attacked me, knowing full well I wouldn't let him disrespect Clarke anyway. "That Finn guy is a real peace of work." Ontari said "what are you going to do? I mean with everything that's going on in sanctum I just can't imagine taking a step back."
