You know when you've been sitting on the toilet looking at a mysterious journal you found in the woods for so long your legs fall asleep and you temporarily panic because you're afraid you might never walk again because you can't stand up?
Well that's what it feels like.... everywhere. Detached, as if I'm not solid but am floating in a void, disassembled and alone. It doesn't last long.
"DIPPER????" Mabels distant side yet oh so near cries swiftly bring me into reality and I soon miss the numbness.
"Ooooh everything hurts." I hiss, sitting up and grabbing my head and forearm simultaneously. It hurts to the touch but that doesn't stop my sister.
Tears streaming from her lime green eyes and spilling all over the bed, she crushes me in a hug so tight that she might have just realigned my back. Or broke it.
"DON'T DO THAT! We thought... we thoughtyou were dead!" She sobs. I try not to wince while I stroke her hair softly.
"Shh, it's ok." I whisper until she releases me from her death grip. There was something I had to remember..... what was it? All I can think of is my sister and me, safe, together, and maybe not happy but way less sad. Great. She's been singing to me while I was..... unconscious kinda? Now I have pop songs stuck in my head. But what was I supposed to remember???
"Mabel? Is something wrong?" Great uncle Stan called up the stairs.
Great uncle Stan!
"Come here!" Mabel manages to call and soon Stan bursts in with a bat.
"Mabel! Dipper? Dipper!" He exclaims and tosses previously mentioned bat over his shoulder, hitting soos straight on in the face, who staggers back but soon also runs in moments later.
"Grunkle Stan, you have to call back your *cough* clones! Bill will use them, and, and threaten Great Uncle Ford!" I waste no time warning him. He doesn't even answer until he has smothered me in a hug so tight that my back pops, and my shoulders, and my, well, my everything actually.
"We were like, super worried dude!" Soos exclaims awkwardly from outside the hug circle. Mabel pulls him in and there's more hugging all around. I wish Wendy was here right now for the hugging... I can't be thinking that!
"Guys, wait. The clones!" I try again. Grunkle Stan shakes his head with a soft laugh.
"You're thinking about that in a time like this? We thought you were going to die!
I'm not an idiot you know. They all have built-in self destruct buttons of a sort. Actually, it's just pill capsulesfilledwith tap water. If they don'tmake it to the borderor make it back in about 6 more minutes, it will dissolve and take care of them. Enough time to do their jobs but not enough to be much threat to us if captured." Stan leans against the wall to tell me. I sigh in relief. I'm glad.
"We just need to stop Bill now and everything will be ok!" Mabel proclaims, enthusiastic as always.
"Heh, just." Soos laughs
He's right..... but I know JUST how we can do this.
"Guys? I have a plan." I affirm, struggling to sit up.
"Let's end this"
