"Cas?" I called throughout the house. "I'm going to work-"
The guest room door was still closed, and I approached it carefully, pressing my ear against the door. There was no noise coming from inside, god, I hope he's still in there or I'm going to lose my marbles.
"Cas?" I asked again. I slowly opened the door and had a breath of relief when I saw the black-haired boy still in bed. He was in a peaceful, quiet sleep. Soft snores and positive dreams. I didn't want to disturb him, but I had too.
As quietly as possible, I walked into the room towards the bed and stood over him. He was on his side, hands folded underneath his head like a pillow. I brushed a few hairs away from his forehead, making sure I didn't actually touch him, just his hair.
"Cas," I repeated, leaning down the whisper into his ear. He shifted underneath me, groaning slightly when my voice flowed through his ears. "I'm going to work, okay? Stay here please, there's a phone in the kitchen so you can call your brother or something. I have a TV with a few good films on it and some books if you're into that kind of thing, okay? I'll be back by nine, be safe."
It took everything in me to not at least kiss him on the forehead before I left, but when I tried to leave, something grabbed my hand.
"You're leaving?" A groggy, morning voice questioned. I whipped my head around and found Castiel, hand clutching mine while he tried to open his eyes.
I laughed lightly, I couldn't lie, even though he has been acting like a jerk lately, I can't help but still find him adorable. "Yeah, I'm leaving."
"It's Sunday," Cas inferred. "Stay."
I raised an eyebrow and sat on the edge of the bed. "You want me to stay?" I asked with a smirk.
His eyes went wide and he let go of my hand, quickly sitting up. "No, I mean-"
"I wish I could stay too," I interrupted, knowing he was going to make up any excuse to prevent any teasing of mine. There was silence for a few seconds, just a small stare was help between us, and I couldn't help but get lost in those blue eyes once more. "I made breakfast," I finally said. "Have a good day, I'll see you later tonight and maybe we can go out for dinner. As friends of course."
"Friends?" Castiel asked.
I stood up and straightened my coat. "Strangers sounds so...wrong don't it?"
"I suppose," Castiel shrugged. "But friends know each other."
At that quote I smiled. "Then I guess tonight we'll try to get to know each other then, huh?"
And right when I left for work, I had earned another smile.

"Morning, Garth," I greeted my sleep deprived co worker kindly. He looked up from the screen that was hogging his eyes and met my own, smiling slightly.
"Morning, Dean," he yawned.
"Are all of those meetings scheduled?" I asked, looking in a mirror to straighten my tie and smooth out my hair.
"Oh, please," he chuckled. "If I didn't schedule those I would be the worst P.A in the world."
Hundreds of papers filed in a perfectly neat stack slammed on the desk in front of me. I let out an audiable groan and threw my head back, like a dramatic child when he doesn't get the toy he wanted for Christmas. Garth just brushed off his hands and returned to his desk on the other side of the room.
