Chapter Four

Lauren and continued our friendship. And I gotta say, It was really starting to bum me out. I mean we still talked and hung out and stuff, but I wanted more. And it scares the hell out of me, you know. I've never really been in love. Just close. And my last girlfriend broke my heart(which led to 7 months of sleeping around).

And the fact that I was falling for her so fast. I mean we've been friends for what? Like a month and a half. God man all I think about is her. Literally she's the my first thought in the morning, the last face that flashes my mind before I sleep, and every damned thing in between. I cannot wait until 8th period until I could finally see her.

The day went by quickly. The bell rung and I headed off to my next class. By sixth period, my stomach was growling. I hate the fact I have third lunch. Last lunch that is.

"Alright class" Mr. Schmidt began. "Turn in you're homework packets and get out your books". We opened our books and he began to teach. I zoned him out, thinking about lunch, lauren, everything else.

The bell rang and I bolted for the door. With 1500 kids, the lunch line gets pretty long. I was waiting for amanda to come from her class across the hall. Usually she comes out running too. But then I caught a glimpse of lauren. I stopped for her.

"Come on bro, the lunch line is about to be packed" amanda yelled running.

"I'll catch you in a few" I yelled.

"Hey, lover", lauren greeted me.

"Hey, what do you have right now?"

"Spanish, you?"

"Lunch, but how about I walk you to class?"

"Sure, I'd like that" she said smiling. We walked through the packed hallway.

"So, any plans for tonight?" I asked

"No, not really. Homework I guess."

"Come to the football game, carlie, Jamie and I are going"

"I don't know, football isn't really my thing" she said

"Oh come on" I begged, "You'll get to see me, and I'll buy you food"

"You sure know the way to a girl's heart" she said laughing. "I'll be there. What time is it?"

"7:30, see you then" we hugged goodbye.

20 minutes later I've finally made it out if the lunch line and made my way over to my table. Amanda, taylor, Bri, and Sadie were already there.

"Look who finally decided to show up", Taylor said.

"Yea I was with BAE", I said

"Oooh, who's bae"? Bri asked. In case you didn't know, "bae" stands for "before anyone else". A term used when you liked someone but you guys don't date. I call it "pre-dating" Ha.

"Ah, I do not kiss and tell" I said smiling

"Tell us", Sadie demanded

"Yea, bro" taylor chimed in.

"Ok, but you guys have to promise not to tell anyone, ok? We're not together and plus I don't want everyone knowing my business"

"Alright nigga, tell us" Amanda said

"Ok do you guys know lauren?"

"Which one?"

"Reynolds, the mixed one"

"Oh shit, she got a dime on her hands" sadie yelled in excitement

"She ain't all that now, shes okay", bri shot back.
