Chapter 3Light subtly lulled you awake, letting you know that morning has arrived. You groan, feeling utterly strange and anxious for reasons you're not awake enough to comprehend yet.
Groaning, you sit up, stretching and cracking your back after sleeping in such an odd position on the floor, completely freezing. You hum, tiredly noting that you don't recognise where you are- then jolting to your feet, wide eyed, panicking at the fact that you have no idea what's going on.
After afew minutes, you recall everything that has happened in the past 3700 years. That was your first nights sleep in so long, and it sucked- but you weree so fucking exausted that you slept through the entire night. You humm, “stupid. Im lucky as shit i dont have a cold right now. How the hell don't I have a cold right now?” you ask yourself- deciding not to question and chalk it up to luck that will never happen again.
Standing up, you look outside, watching the sunrise. May as well stay here for a bit until you can make shit to move around as you need. You pull the curtain, feeling the texture. For now, this will work, extremely uncomfortable, but it will have to do. First though, you need tools.
You climb down, noting all of the broken pots, all of them made of dried clay. Some things are made of primitive cement. “Hmm, none of this will do for a knife or spear… though, I may be more successful with a bow and arrows. I've never hunted with a bow and arrow, but I have used them.” not only have you used them, but you're pretty good at it, not to mention are… were certified to teach archery.
Heading back to the river, you see that it has already calmed down enough to search the banks for chert. After looking, you find many stones that can be used. Then you grab a smooth riverstone. “Hah, always wanted to do this. Now here we are! Huhuhu~” you chuckle, already feeling like yourself again.
Hitting the rocks together was actually slightly more difficult than you thought it would be. The technique is hard to grasp, and there's no tutorial to help you. “That's fine, trial and error is the way I do things…” you huff, tossing another failed stone into the river.
Smack, turn the rock, smack- no, shit… lets try- smack, there… ok, this one will just be oddly shaped. You hold the stone up, judging your work- deciding it's good enough to serve its purpose. You have around 32 arrowheads now, none of them amazingly made, but they are good enough. This latest work is a utility knife style, good for almost everything. But once you start butchering animals, you are going to have specialized knives for stuff like skinning, and removing the meat from the bone; both requiring different knives.
You have decided that those specialty knives can wait, as you aren't going to be hunting immediately. As you stand, you feel your stomach demanding sustenance, growling at you in anger. “Heh, yeah, I haven't fed you in 3700 years… sorry, it's not going to be anything nearly as good as instant ramen heheh…” you chuckle to yourself.
Deciding to gather some edible plants, you walk into the forest, looking for anything that might be even remotely edible. Three hours have passed, and you have munched on mushrooms, ultra- sour grapes, and a few clumps of moss, brilliantly delicious. You settle back down at the camp, taking the shattered pots, inspecting them, noting that they have in fact been fired, so adding water wouldn't work to stick them back together. Instead, you search the riverbed for clay, finding some, and gathering a handful, slowly rebuilding a large bowl with mismatched shards, clumping them together and filling in the holes with clay. You then craft a bow drill, wrapping it around a stick- with tinder under a second stick that you have cut a notch into.
Turning the stick to create an amber takes a while, but it eventually happenes, the moisture doesn't help at all, but eventually you have created a fire. You take the bowl, and throw it into the fire, electing to hunt for more plant-food while you wait.
“Ah, fire achievement unlocked… hehehe, actually- i've unlocked a lot of achievements… lesse- stealth unlocked, exploration, then abandoned treehouse, found. Chapter two unlocked heheh!” you humm, picking another mushroom to munch on.
A lizard scurries up a tree, catching your attention, instinct taking over as you immediately grab it off the bark from a foot above you. How you outpaced a lizard, you don't know. The small brown lizard squirms in your hand- almost making you feel bad, but- protein is essential. ***TW*** you take a rock, and put the lizard against the tree, hitting it on the head. It was painful to do, but it's actually the most humane thing you could have done. This is survival, it's kill or be killed, and the least you can do is make the animal’s death quick, and painless. You don't know how to go about gutting this guy, but if you don't, the meat will be infested with parasites. You grab the knife out of the vine wrapped around yourself, cutting into the stomach, and clearing the cavity of its contents.***END OF TW***
You run back to camp, grabbing a stick, positioning the lizard on it, and leaving it to cook like a skewered hot-dog. Humming, you look at the sky, holding your fist out all the way, counting how many fists fit under the sun. “one… two- and two fingers… two and a half hours of daylight left.” (this really works!) you decide to use the last two hours to make a bow, and a covering for yourself out of the curtain from the on-ground building. It's itchy as hell- but it's much warmer than being naked. Er mostly naked.
“Lesse, where did I leave off?” you humm, ah! "Chapter two! Mental breakdown acquired… heh. Ehm, treehouse set as shelter. Uhhh, arrowheads acquired, chert knife acquired, food acquired, hunter achievement unlocked! Oh!” you remember the pot, grabbing two sticks and pulling the bowl out. “Shard bowl acquired, pottery unlocked huhuhuuu! Anyway…” you set the bowl down beside you to cool, continuing, “bow acquired, crafting skill level up! Clothing acquired, not’Naked and Afraid’ achievement unlocked!”
After eating your fill, you yawn, grabbing the last of the curtain, cutting a blanket out of it, and carrying it up the treehouse, “blanket acquired… day 1 complete… achievement unlocked, haven't died yet…” you say to yourself. You know that keeping your mind busy with these achievements will keep you from losing your mind about being completely alone. Well, not entirely alone… but you can't interact with any people for fear of them killing you. Granted- that may be your anxiety talking, but you don't want to take any chances.
With that, you drift off to sleep, feeling oddly excited about all that you have achieved, and everything you have yet to create. You already have come up with plans in your head, and are excited to enact them all. You plan to be basically a nomad, wandering and living with only what you need to survive, and can carry. How much fun is this going to be? How dangerous? How terrifying? All questions you have yet to answer. All answers you are excited to find. But for now- you drift off to sleep.
Hello!! I know this is three chapters now and you still haven't even really met senku- but this is a slow burn! I suppose I shouldhave mentioned that huh? Sorry about that! But I want to give ample time to flesh out the characters and show all what MC; or, you, are capable of, that way it isn't jarring when you see that you are an absolute mad lad when it comes to creating shit. Although, just like everyone else- you aren't emediately good at everything; as you could see. Anyway, its going to be quite a while before you meet senku! I did that because I find it utterly boring to have the same storyline as literally every other fanfic on here, following so closely to the manga. I will be following the manga ofcourse; but I'm going to make this story my own. Of course, not in a way that derails everything or puts all the focus on Y/N. You'll see, have faith in me, and ill have everything handled! And handled well too!
