Chapter 6: Demonic Assault

Today, I found that legions of demons had entered the city! They even began attacking the Church! The Church of Montreal and Imperial Army dispatched all of their forces. All civilians were instructed to stay home and avoid going outside, as it was dangerous. The demons were so powerful that it seemed that the imperial soldiers were dying like flies. Not even the Church of Montreal seemed to have enough power. This is when Cynthia decided to step onto the battlefield herself. She was in a templar's armor, wielding a claymore. The demons all bit the dust when the Holy Mother decided to protect her nation with her own force! I was not deployed, as Cynthia was too worried for me, however, I wanted to protect our glorious Empire as well! I activated Archaic Diamond and tore apart the demons. Vergil protected me in battle, and all the demons fell. When the Army proves useless, the forces blessed by the Heavens will repel any attack and stop any siege! We, the Church of Montreal, step into the hellfire and make our way to Heaven through destroying all that is unholy! No claws of demons or flames of the infernal abyss can leave a scratch on our morale and determination! After a long and gruesome battle, the demons were slain, but, so was the Imperial Army. The soldiers underestimated the threat. However, most of us sons and daughters were unharmed. Cynthia said to me: "You still stepped out onto the battlefield, even though I said it was too dangerous...I admire your courage, however, you are reckless. If you weren't so strong and Vergil wasn't with you, you probably would've died. Despite that, you slayed most of the demons, and protected our capital and our Empire. Make sure not to be that reckless next time, though." I thanked her for the warning. However, soon after the end of the first wave of legions, another one came. All the waves of enemies were defeated, but, after all that fighting, there were so many casualties and so much destruction. Montreal struggled to rebuild. The Imperial Army was obliterated out of existence, and the Church of Montreal was the only governmental military organization left standing. Even the Supreme Leader of the Imperial Army was dead, and not a single soldier remained. The demons seem to have specifically targeted the military, because, if a Church official killed a demon, its fellow demon would attack not the Church official, but a soldier standing by. It was unknown why, but, the demons seemed to have some fear of attacking Church members. The civilians that did come out of their homes and fought with whatever they had were also not attacked. It was certain that the demons had some kind of resentment towards the Avilon military. They probably intended to crush the military force to leave Avilon defenseless and didn't know of the power of the Church, but feared divine punishment, because our slogan is: "In the name of justice, honor, the Empire, and the Gods". Find the odd one out. After the army fell, as we have holograms and super-computers, but somehow no tanks or even basic helicopters, all remaining, undamaged military equipment was given to the Church. On the same day after the final demon attack, a president of another nation came to speak with the Emperor. North Korea, ruled by Ann Min, offered its help. As North Korea has loosened its dictatorship and decreased its level of hatred towards all other nations, they wanted to help Avilon. Lady Min spoke to Cynthia and Emperor Sigurd Nokianvirtanen, both of who accepted their help. Now, it seems that we have not only the Gods, but also another nation on our side...
