The Beast

Chapter 3

"Do you see this?" Amelia asks Meg when they are in the library.  They are supposed to be studying for their science test but this is more important. Writing is always a first priority to Amelia. 

"So I'm confused, is this for your novel novel or something else?" Meghan asks, examining the words on the laptop. 

"I honestly don't even know. I just wrote it." Amelia says.

Meghan sighs and closes the laptop, "Hun this isn't the first time you have written about strangers and then claimed that they have something special or whatever." 

Amelia stares at the wooden desk and shrugs.

"Amelia, you're just interested in people and have a general curiosity around them. It sounds confusing I know but that's just it. Remember when you wrote about how Mr. Kendrick is a secret gay spy?" Meghan says. 

She nod, "But it could have been possible! He always wears black and uses the government as examples all the time. And for the gay thing, his voice is very high and he takes synchronized  swimming!" 

"Clearly you still believe that stuff. Amelia you have to focus on your novel that's it." Meghan reasons. 

Amelia frowns, "But Meghan-"

She shoves a science textbook in her face and orders her to read. Amelia abides quietly and flips it open, pretending the read the text. 

"Meg, while we are studying for the test, Mr. Kendrick is probably trying to crash the government's files." Amelia says.  

"Why do you think that?" She asks quietly, also pretending the read the book.

"Because he said that the tests were deleted from his computer and he blamed the government." Amelia tells her with a huge smile on her face.

"Amelia." 

"Yes?" she says, hoping that Meg finally believes her and then they can start the adventure Amelia has always been dreaming of. 

"Shut up." 

Maybe next time.

At lunch, Amelia, Meghan, Alyssa, Cameron and her boyfriend named Trey sit down to eat.

"Where's Symone?" Meghan asks. 

"Probably trying to get James back. Poor guy, deserves so much better." Alyssa says.

"What do you mean?" Amelia asks. 

"You know how Symone and Ryan are neighbors? Well James found him at Symone's house and her parents weren't home." Alyssa explains. 

"Were they doing something?" Amelia questions. 

Alyssa shrugs, "Dunno." 

Amelia rolls her eyes and then watches Trey and Cameron cuddling. She scoffs and looks away from the couple. Meghan raises her eyebrow and has a questioning look on her face.

Couples, Amelia mouths to her. Meghan nods and fake gags when the two start kissing. Trey and Cameron are always a bit touchy. Actually no not a bit 

"You guys are so cute, look at them Amelia." Alyssa comments with a huge smile on her face. 

"Uh huh." 

Meghan snorts and throws a grape at Trey who glares at her while kissing Cameron's neck. 

"I think I lost my appetite." Amelia whispers to Meghan. 

Alyssa hears them and says, "Don't be jealous guys."
