The Beast

Chapter 5

When Meghan arrives at Amelia's she has a whole bag packed with her plaid pajamas on. 

"So I presume you're spending the night?" Amelia asks, eyeing her bag.

"Well duh! My mom and dad are fine with it anyways. Also I brought a movie." Meghan says as she drops the bag to the side and jumps onto the couch.

Amelia frowns,"But I thought we were going to watch Tangled." 

"You're such a little girl and no we are going to watch Journey 2." Meghan tells her, plugging the movie in.

"Its not scary right? We have school tomorrow."

Meghan rolls her eyes playfully, "No its not, now sit back and give me the popcorn." 

"I still prefer Tangled." Amelia mutters as the movie starts. 

Halfway through the movie, the pizza arrives and as the two are settled with their food, Amelia notices that Meghan is texting someone. She tries to see who it is but Meghan faces the screen away from her. 

Amelia shrugs it off thinking that its probably Symone but in the back of her mind she doesn't believe that.

At school, Meghan still has her phone in her hands which isn't a surprise but she's still texting someone. And she has that strange little smile on her face as she texts. 

What surprises Amelia even more is that when she sees Symone, she doesn't have her phone with her. 

Weird. Amelia thinks to herself. 

Symone hugs Amelia and then raises her eyebrow when she sees Meghan not noticing her.

"What's up with her?" Symone asks, pointing to Meghan who still isn't aware of her. 

"She's been texting someone last night and this morning and she giggles after each minute." 

Then Meghan giggles, "As I was saying." 

"She has that smile on that I usually have when I text James." Symone says. 

Amelia shakes her head,"No no if there is someone she would tell me!" 

Symone shrugs and then leaves when she finds Cameron waving to her.

"Meghan follow me." Amelia says, grabbing her hand and dragging her off. 

"Where are we going?" Meghan asks, finally looking up from the screen. Amelia doesn't answer her and walks to the field. They walk up the bleachers and take a seat in the middle of the row.

"Why are we here?" Meghan asks.

"I feel like you're hiding something from me. You've been texting someone and I know its not anyone else and Symone think you're in love or something."

"You're kidding me? I've been texting someone yeah and its Carrie from history class. She was just telling me all of the idiotic things her brother has done and we've been sharing sibling stories." Meghan explains. 

"Great now I feel so stupid. I'm sorry its just that when she said that I was upset because you would tell me." Amelia says. There's a glint of guilt in Meghan's eyes when Amelia says that.

"I promise if there is then I willl tell you." Meghan promises in a quiet tone. Amelia nods and smiles, giving Meghan a hug. 

"We have like 10 minutes until class starts. Lets spend it here, its quiet and I like it." Amelia says.
