Chapter 21: The deal

~Ella's POV~

It was like my world went blank. It was just me, and Jeff’s dead, cold body, lying there. "This is my entire fault..." I choke out, the sobs leaving my body harshly, as I pet his hair away from his pale face "Jeff... Please come back…"

Hoodie and Slenderman stare at me, a  look of sadness and hurt covering their faces. Hoodie quickly walks over, and places a hand on my shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze. "Come on Ella... Let’s go somewhere else."

I don’t move, I just continue to cry. Those words in that letter playing in my head over and over again. You weren't a monster Jeff... You weren’t. Thinking back at that night, how could I have let that happen... Why wouldn’t they of just listened? If they would of listened, this never would of happened. "W-why...?" I choke out, clinging to Jeff's hoodie.

"Huh?" Hoodie asked in confusion, "What do you mean Ella?"

I swallow down the lump in my throat, trying to form the words in my head to actually come out. "Why didn’t.. You guys just listen to me..?"

Hoodie goes silent, he turning to Slenderman who hasn’t said a word. He then turns back to me and whispers "Ella, I'm sorry, I wasn’t thinking and-"

"No! You weren’t thinking and looked what happened?!" I scream now turning to him, my sadness slowly turning into anger. "You were all-" I look between Slenderman and Hoodie "You were all blinded by your stupid jealously! Besides if you two and Maskey hadn’t followed me in the first place-"

I stop, thinking about this. They never should of followed in the first place. They never should of attacked each other. "You guys were supposed to be friends, and you all made each other enemies because of me?!" I scream shaking my head " I don’t get that at all! You guys are complete idiots!" I scream turning to Slendy. "YOU! You're supposed to be the mature one! The father of the family, and you

let your jealously and anger get to you! You're supposed to be the one to think about the situation first, not just running in!"

Slenderman just looks down nodding ashamed of what he’s done. "Yes Ella. I should of taken more responsibility with this problem."

I growl, "Well that isn’t going to bring Jeff back!"

I then turn to Hoodie, jabbing him in the chest with my finger. "and you. Oh, you. You just HAD to follow us didn’t you?! You just had to go and start something with Jeff when he was finally happy for once in his life! How selfish are you!" I scream tears in my eyes "IF YOU HADNT BEEN SO STUPID JEFF WOULD BE ALIVE RIGHT NOW!"

Hoodie stares at me, tears in his own eyes as he tries to form the words "I’m s-sorry! I j-just didn’t w-want t-to l-lose you a-and..."

"WELL LOOK AT WHAT YOU DID NOW STUPID!" I scream, shaking my head, and the next thing I knew, was running out the door crying. "Ella wait!" I hear Hoodie scream, but I just keep running. I run out of the shack, and into the woods, because I know I'll explode if I see either one of their faces. (Does Slenderman count? XDDD).

I run as far as my feet would take me, and then finally I collapse on the ground, my nails digging into the dirt as I scream in pain and agony. I just, need to let everything out. I continue to just scream and cry gripping the ground, and not noticing what was happening, everything around me started to die. The grass turned brown and dry, the flower shrivelled until they were nothing but dried up vines on the ground. The once healthy, pure green trees dying around me. The leaves turned brown and dry, then one by one started falling off the branches and covering me, until I was buried in a pile of leaves.
