Chapter 22: The Ones Who Returned

Hey guys, its me again! So lets see whats going to happen with Ella. Is she going to make the deal? Or turn him down? Is Zalgo tricking Ella? Is Ella doing this to get closer with Zalgo so hes more of an ally then an enemy? Lets find out!

I stand there, holding the cat in my hands as I think... What to do...

"I-I..."

~JEFF'S POV~

I was in a field.. just a field of grass. There was nothing else. No trees, no hills, no flowers. Just an endless flat field, pure green grass covering it. W-Where...? Where was I? Slowly turning around to go look the other way, all I saw was the same thing. Just endless field, with a pure blue sky, not a single cloud covering it.

Sighing, I start walking, heading to god knows where. What had happened. I remembered I was out on the hill with Ella, and we kissed and- Suddenly feeling my cheeks heat up, I cover them quickly even though no one was around. Sighing quietly, I slowly let my blush disappear, only to continue walking.

I don't know how long I walked for, but it felt like forever. I thought I would never get out of that field. That was.. Until I saw it. I mean, who could miss it in the middle of a nothing but grass. It was a big, large, Oak tree. Its leaves a brilliantly green colour, it standing maybe a good 50 feet. I slowly walk over to it, admiring it gently. It was a beautiful tree, but another thing caught my eye.

There was a person, sitting on one of the roots, sticking out of the ground, at the bottom of the tree.

Slowly looking over at the person, I walk towards them gently, their features becoming more clear as I got closer. His hair was long, reaching just a little bit past his shoulders. He was well built, and about 3-4 inches taller than me. He looked around my age, maybe a couple years older. Quietly, I inched my way closer to the boy, and right as I was going to tap on his shoulder, he spoke. "Don't even try to sneak up on me bud. I know all your tricks."

My eyes widen as the person spoke. I knew this voice, but I haven't heard that voice in a long time. It was deep, but cracked at some parts, but other than that it was smooth and clear. I would recognize that voice anywhere. "It c-cant b-be...L-L-"

The boy turns around, his piercing greens eyes boring into mine. He smiles his perfect charming smile, before speaking "Hey little brother. Its been a long time."

Instantly tilting back on my heels, I yelped as I fall backwards. I stare up at him in shock. "B-but... its not p-possible... L-Liu..." I whisper out, my voice barely audible.

My older brother stares down at me and smiles again, he reaching out to help up. "Well it is bud. Welcome, to limbo, I guess you can call it."

I tilt my head in confusion about what he meant, but I was too scared to take his hand. "What...? Limbo? You mean the world between the real world and the spirit world? Why would I be here? I should be in hell for sure, no doubt about it."

Liu only laughs and grabs my hand, pulling me off the ground "Well you were meant to go to hell. That was... until you met that girl."

Tilting my head in confusion for a moment, my fear of Liu slowly dying down as I try and think about what he meant. "Huh? What girl?!"

Liu only laughs and walks ahead, he heading back to the root he was once sitting on. Waving his hand as if to say 'Follow me'. Standing there in confusion for a minute, I slowly start to follow him, he leading me to some type of mirror. It had a silver frame, roots and branches holding it in place. Liu turned to me and chuckled once more "You know, the girl. What's her name... started with an F I think? Wait no... it started with an E! She has red hair, had glasses, kind of is in love with you?"
