Long ago in a forgotten forest lived a macaw and a python. The macaw sat in a tree eating figs, staying aware of its surroundings. The python crept up the tree towards the macaw. Hungry and impatient, the snake lunged at the bird, but missed as the macaw flew away at the last second.
“ Not today snake!” the macaw squawked, landing on a flimsy branch above the python.
“ Ssooo ssorry,” the python hissed, as it watched the macaw closely. “ Pleasse come down, I won’t hurt you!”
The Macaw shook its head, leaning down towards the python “ No way I’m trusting you!” it said, and turned away. The python continued to try and coax the macaw to come down with promises and flattery.
“ Come on! We can be friends, really! I won’t hurt you.” The python was very hungry. The longer it waited, the more impatient the python became. Desperate, the python tried to reach up to the branch where the macaw sat. However, the macaw looked back and spotted the python ready to strike.
“Look at you, hungry and desperate,” the macaw taunted.
Angry and starving, the python struck, launching itself up towards the branch. Once again, the python nearly caught the macaw, but at the last second the bird took flight.
The python’s weight caused the flimsy branch to snap and the python fell to the ground.
Safe from danger, the macaw returned to the tree, and went back to feasting on the figs.Don’t let someone who’ll hurt you, trick you.
