Alissa Moore's Point of View:
It has been a day since I've last seen Rafe and I'm not ashamed to admit that I've missed him dearly. Is it possible to crave someone so much after just knowing them for a couple of days? I'd say yes because that's exactly how I'm feeling right now.
Rafe had some royal engagements to attend to so he couldn't meet up with me today so instead, I decided to spend time with Bri. I felt a bit bad for leaving her on her own when I'm on my dates. Well as alone as you can get while having a bodyguard.
I got out of bed and quickly got dressed throwing my hair into a ponytail. I walked over to Bri's room and flung open the door. There she was in bed completely knocked out and looking so peaceful. Too bad I was about to ruin her peace.
I walked into the kitchen where Jacob and John were already up and drinking coffee.
"Morning guys," I greeted them cheerfully.
"Good morning"
"Hi Alissa"
"Did you guys already have breakfast or is it just coffee today?"
"Jacob was about to order some food from room service when you girls wake up"
"Oh nonsense I bought groceries yesterday remember I'll just make us something"
"Are you sure?" John asked me.
"I'm sure," I told him as I grabbed one of the pots and a wooden spoon making my way out of the kitchen. I ignored their confused looks and walked into Bri's room. I told her that we were spending the day together and that she should get up early today or else I would have to wake her up. As you can see she didn't listen to me, I'm just glad that the guys were already awake and wouldn't be frightened awake by this.
Taking a deep breath I raised the pot and spoon in the air and started smacking them together. I laughed when Bri shot out of bed at the sound. It reminded me of a time when we were supposed to go out but she insisted on sleeping in so I lit some firecrackers in a pot. She thought that someone was firing a gun because of how loud it was.
"Crap! Are you crazy?"
"Alissa," she groaned as she ran a hand down her face "why did you do that?"
"Didn't I tell you we were hanging out today?"
She groaned, "but Lissa it's not even morning yet"
I strolled over to her window and gripped each side of her curtains flinging it open to reveal the sun that was currently being hidden by a cloud. It was still bright out despite the sun's concealment.
"Get ready," I told her "I'll have breakfast ready for you when you're done"
I backed away from her and exited the room. I made sure to close the door behind me to give her privacy to get ready for the day. I walked back into the room with a sense of accomplishment. Jacob and was no longer in the kitchen but John was still there sipping his coffee.
"What are you making?" he asked quietly not once looking up from the newspaper in his hand.
"Pancakes and bacon sound good?"
He nodded before standing to his feet and walking over to me, "let me help you"
I didn't decline his offer. I told Bri that I would have breakfast done by the time she got out here and I knew for a fact that if she had to wait she would be in a pissed-off mood all day. We worked silently together quickly having breakfast done and ready to eat.
"Something smells good," Bri grinned as poured herself some coffee and made herself a plate. I didn't like the taste of coffee so I decided to make myself a cup of tea to warm up my stomach. We ate our breakfast and I shared some for Jacob as well.
"So what's the plan for today?" my sister was all smiles now after just being fed. It was remarkable to see what just a little bit of food can do.
"I know that I've been gone a lot lately so today we'll do whatever you want to do"
"Really?" her eyes lit up. She walked into the little living room and sat down putting her feet up on the coffee table. She leaned back against the chair in content.
I stared at her in confusion, "are you just going to lay there all day?"
She peeked an eye open, "as a matter of fact yes...I'm exhausted right now but I wouldn't mind hearing about you and the prince"
Speaking of the devil my phone lit up with a text from him. My smile spread from ear to ear before I even read the message. After reading it I was blushing so hard.
Even though I should probably be focusing on what my dad is saying I had to let you know that I missed you.
I quickly typed out a response to him.
I miss you too Rafe.
"I thought today was about me," Bri teased.
My face grew even redder as I put away my phone. I was a little distracted as I thought of Rafe.
"You must really like him," Bri commented when I finally looked at her "I've never seen you behave this way for a man"
"He's different," I told her honestly. When I was with him I had constant butterflies in my stomach. It was as if I was on a high behind around him.
"I can tell," she murmured "I have a question Lissa and I hope you won't get mad at me for asking"
Her wording had me worried, "what is it?"
"I'm glad that you and Rafael are getting along so well but what's going to happen when we have to go home?"
I froze at her words. I've been so caught up in just being with him that I hadn't thought about it. What would happen? I had no idea.
"One of us would have to move if we want this to work"
She sighed, "I hate to burst your bubble sis but he's the next in line to the throne. If he were to leave he would be seen as abandoning his country"
I was stunned that she had thought about that and I hadn't but she was right. I couldn't ask him to come to America with me. He quite literally had a country to run and more people depending on him than I do.
When the time came to talk about this with Rafe I hope I would be more prepared than I am right now.
