Hajime Iwaizumi. The guy you'd been crushing on for the last few months.
You guys made eye contact and he shot up from his seat to meet you.
"Y/n!" He yelled pulling you into a big hug. God you missed him.
"Hi Iwa!" You giggled and planted a tiny kiss on his lips.
His eyes widened with shock but he pulled you to the couch without saying anything.
"Have you tried the drink in the kitchen? It's soo good!" You said leaning towards him. Your words were slightly slurred and you were a giggly mess.
"No I haven't." But I think I stick to water.." he nervously laughed.
"So what have you been up too lately?" You asked sitting straight and looking at him intently.
"Just studying for college. It's been a pain so I'm glad to get out of my room."
"Do they have food here?" You asked suddenly switching the topic.
"Uhhh.. Yeah I saw Oikawa putting some stuff out In the kitchen. You wanna get some?"
"Mhm!" You smiled.
Iwaizumi stood up and offered you his hand, you immediately took it and he helped you up.
Standing up so fast made you dizzy and you leaned on his shoulder for support, as to not fall down.
"Are you alright?" He asked, his brows were furrowed with concern.
"Ye-yeah I'm alright!" you chuckled.
"Hmm alright..."
You both wandered to the kitchen catching up with each other. You were so careful not to trip in-front of him, you almost ran into a wall.
Both of you took your snacks and headed outside. Iwaizumi knew something was wrong and though that some fresh air would help.
The night was clear and crisp. The stars were so clear, and in your drunken state, you told Iwaizumi that if you just reached far enough your could maybe just touch one.
He lead you to the curb side with his arm protectively around your waist and sat you down.
"Y/n? Are you sure your ok? You've been acting strange tonight.. are you feeling ok?"
"Yeah yeah, I feel fine!" You answered
"You're drunk aren't you?"
"No! I've only been drinking that drink that was in the kitchen!"
"....Y/n.... That had alcohol in it.. you do know..."
Both of you hesitated before saying anything
"I should really get you home, did you come here with anyone?"
"Y-yeah, Kiyoko and Yaichi, but I can't go home, my sister is there and I told her I was at a sleepover, she'll know that I'm drunk!" You exclaimed.
He inhaled sharply before speaking. "Alright, why don't we just stay here until your sober enough to walk in a straight line."
You both just sat there on the curb not saying a word just looking at the stars while the chatter of your friends and the bass of the music drifted from the house behind you.
You rested your head on his shoulder and started to speak.
"Iwaizumi?"
"Yes?"
"Can I tell you something?"
"Anything"
You took a deep breath before continuing.
"I like you..."
The silence was so loud you could hear your rapid heartbeat in your ears.
"I know"
You bolted up and your eyes shot open "You knew?!"
"Yes I did."
"Well... do you like me back, it's okay if you say no."
He paused for a minute before responding
"I do... but.."
"But?"
"But I'm going off to college in 3 months , it's across the country and if we got together, I'm scared we would break up because of the distance.... I'm so sorry Y/n"
Your heart fell but you understood. "Yeah, maybe it's best if we don't be together.."
You felt tears starting to form in your eyes and your throat tightened, but you straightened up and turned to face him.
"Even if we won't be together during your time at college, promise me that we meet during your breaks."
He looked you in the eyes and smiled. "I promise."
Iwaizumi then embraced you in a hug and even though the alcohol on your breath you could still smell the Citrus and expensive ocean cologne on his skin.
An: ...... so let's not discuss how long I've been away😬 ... I genuinely forgot this story existed and I apologize for leaving it on a cliffhanger. This is the last in final chapter of the story (but if you want me to do oneshots I'll add them, just request) I hope you enjoyed this.
