Nothing Special

(Eren's POV)

Today, I'm just cleaning. Nothing special. But earlier, I found a chocolate heart, with my name, and Levi's name carved into it. When I saw it, it sent my heart into s frenzy. I didn't know if he had made it, or who did. It turns out Hanji made it. She kinda scares me to tell you the truth. Anyways, right now, I am cleaning Levi's shelves, and then I get to clean his windows. I guess he's a clean freak, because he keeps on pointing out small pieces of dust I missed. I've never been a clean freak, but it's not like I don't like cleaning, it's just I never had any time to clean. I finished dusting off everything, and then grabbed the Windex. Levi didn't talk while I cleaned the window. Either he was super focused on his work, or just wouldn't talk to me. About 30 minutes later, I had finished cleaning all of his windows.

"Finally!" I said triumphantly. "I finished!" He looked up from his papers and scanned each and every crevice of his room.

"Mmm. Good job, you are free to clean other people's rooms." He put his pen down and stretched. I put the cleaning supplies away, and was about to walk out.

"Jaeger." I turned around. Levi was staring at me. "Take a break."

"What? But-"

"I said take a break." He interrupted.

"O-Okay. What should I do during my break?" I asked.

"Anything. I don't care. Just don't go bothering other people." He laid back in his chair.

"May I read one of your books?" I wanted to read The Lightning Thief. It looked like an interesting book.

"Depends. Which one?" He twirled his chair around to face his alphabetically organized books.

"Um, The Lightning Thief." He grabbed the books off the shelf.

"Here." He threw it to me.

"Thanks." I opened the book, and started reading. About 45 minutes later, Levi spoke up.

"How far are you?"

"Um, I'm on page 69."

"Alright. You can take it home if you want. Bring it back when you're done." I dont believe he's letting me take it.

"N-No, I can just stop by Barnes and Noble on my way home, and buy it."

"No. I said you can take it. Don't go through that trouble." He looked up at me with a serious face.

"O-Okay. Thank you so much!" I said putting the book in my bag.

"You're done for today. This is when you'll leave from now on." He stood up, and got something out of his drawer. It was a small pin with my name written on it. I took it, and put in my bag. "Put this on whenever you come to work."

"Thank you!" I said excitedly. Trying to resist the urge to hug him. He waved me out of the room, and I was on my own. I felt a small prick of hurt somewhere deep in my heart. I was alone. I looked back through his window to see him diligently working. I frowned, because he didn't notice me, and walked away. On my way out of the office building, I wondered if I was starting to like Levi, when he talks to me, I feel my heart race. But he's older than me, and most likely straight. He's too hot to be gay. Wait. Did I say hot? Well, there's no denying it. He is hot. I started up my car, and drove home. When I got home, I carefully opened the door, and walked inside. Mikasa wasn't here yet. I ploped down on the couch and turned on the TV. My phone suddenly buzzed beside me.

Good work today, brat.
~Levi A.

He texted me...my heart started racing 100 miles per hour.
