The warmth of the bed was too much and it took all of her sanity to not cross over and take his hand in hers.
Vijay made Radhika's heart thud loudly, making her stomach lurch forward as if she were in a crazy car-drive. And it was a first.
She had been with so many men in the past year that she had lost count. But none of them had the guts to say her that her decision was hers alone. Now, with him lying only a few scoots away, she didn't know if she could actually control herself to not fall on him.
Vijay was sweet. He was caring. He was kind-hearted and more importantly, he was everything that Radhika had dreamed of. As he turned towards her, she could see the faint outline of his perfect jaw adored by his stubble. It took all of her willpower not to grace her slender fingers over them.
As she tried to get a grip on her thoughts, she found his eyes that were looking at her with an emotion she didn't understand. "You don't look good when you cry."
It was a soft whisper and Radhika found herself melting like a scoop of ice-cream. Boldly, she put her hand out and placed it on top of his. The butterflies flapped their wings so hard that she felt the flip deep in her stomach.
Inching closer, she didn't blink as she watched his pupil dilate. "Radhika, what are you doing?"
It was the same husky voice that she had heard before. The only difference was, now, she was loving it. She took her hands off of his and ran it along the roughness of his stubble just like she had wanted and imagined. The spikes of the beard pricked the gentle tips of her fingers. Unlike the other pains she had often felt with other men, this was something too sensual and surreal.
Vijay placed his hands on top of her, a gesture that told her to stop. But her sane mind wasn't working anymore. If she was to lose him tomorrow, she had to know what it was like. What it was like to be with a person who cared enough for her to not to see her cry.
She closed her eyes as she leaned over, lifting her head to reach him. The gentle touch of his lips on hers was like a wave of electricity that numbed all of her senses and left her wanting for more. All her hesitancy was let go and she held on to him like her life depended on it, kissing him as passionately as she could.
"Radhika..." Vijay's words were muffled as he kissed back with the same fervor and passion. Her name on his lips were an encouragement. Radhika gently bit his lip and suddenly, everything burst open in the heat of intimacy.
Vijay took over the kiss, rolling her on her back as he hovered above her. It was as if she had unleashed something in him. Letting go of her lips, Vijay concentrated on the fair curve of her neck. Radhika approved his move with a content groan.
"What are you doing to me, Radhika?" Vijay muttered, but he didn't wait for her to answer as he captured her lips again. The smile on her lips seemed to encourage him.
Radhika's hands wandered over his shoulders, his back, his abdomen and slowly moved south enjoying the curves and grooves on his body. When she reached him, she stilled noticing how hard he had been.
Vijay immediately stopped his actions and looked at her. "Are you sure?" He asked almost breathlessly.
She looked at him almost as breathlessly as him. "I have never been surer."
Vijay crashed his lips on her yet once again, making her forget everything but them in that small bubble that they created among the chaos. "You are so beautiful, you know that?"
A dreamlike balminess spread in her heart and she wished for it to stay there forever. In his arms, under his stare and cocooned within his care. No one had ever called her beautiful before. Heck, no one had even seen her like how Vijay was looking at her.
