episode 2: a childhood friend

" You look really handsome and how did you grow so tall ? you were shorter than my table and now youre so big."

" Well boys grow tall at a certain age. Now where is July ?" " She's inside , should I call her ?" " It would be great if you do," he said . Now he has a secret . He loves July .It's been like that for the past 7 years . He confessed it to me before he left the cartel five years ago . I actually feel really bad for him . He doesn't even know that his greatest competition was his brother . July actually knows that Eric loves her but ....."
" eric '' she screamed . Eric ran towards her and lifted her up . she touched his face . " you have hair on your face, '' she said . ''Yeah, I need to shave, '' he replied . Eric lowered her to the ground and hugged her . This time I felt like July moved on to Eric because they got all touchy . Then they both walked towards the backyard of my house and they were holding hands . Did she really move on ? I asked myself . " They sure are in love . don't you think ?" asked Felix . " No, she likes somebody else . it's just that they're best friends and still think they're little kids ." "whose more better match for her than my brother" " you" i mumbled ." what ?" he asked "nothing" i replied . At the end of the day , Felix and Eric finally left . " What did Eric say ?" I asked in July . "We talked about a lot of things . Then we talked about the ball and he asked me to be his date ." " What did you say ?" I asked her eagerly . " I said no. If I go out with him then Felix will never accept me . so ...'''' you said no ? After all these years, you said no? . you know he loved you for 7 years , right . That is, he loved you more than you loved Felix . Felix will never accept you as his girlfriend as he thinks of you as his sister !" " Will he never ever accept me ? everytime i see him with a woman who claims to be his girlfriend , my heart aches . it's like a 1000 pieces of brick falling on my head . Will I atleast be his second pick ? Will I atleast be his last pick ?" she asked . I could see her eyes watering up. so to console her i told her this " hey , he will pick you up . Just try harder and try to give him small hints . okay ?" Felix will never pick her . He will not be able to love her . how hard she tries it will not change , and that was for sure . but as her sister i should never discourage her so i consoled her with my lies .

The next day I went to the fields and roamed around the road . Then I saw Felix . He was looking really dull so I went up to him . " felix! What happened ? you look dull ." " yes , alice called in sick , so i won't be having a date to the ball" he said . " July also doesn't have a date to the ball , so why don't you take her ?" " okay but are you cool with that ? I mean like the Auggie I know would never send her sister with me" . " Do I have to explain everything ? Will you take her or not ?" " Yeah, I will," he replied . July will be so exciting to hear this news . I went home running and climbed up the stairs in such a hurry that I almost slipped . " July , Felix agreed to take you to the ball!" I screamed .
