Yashiro laid on her bed, face buried in her pillow. She had just gotten out of the shower, attempting to wash all of the negative emotions off her that had manifested themselves.

Her boyfriend had stood her up.

Yashiro shoved her face further into her pillow, desperately trying to forget what had happened with Itsuki.

She stepped into her house, soaking wet with the rain and tears.
She dropped her bag and stumbled over to the couch, flopping on it aimlessly. She shed another tear before picking her phone out of her pocket and opening her messaging app.

She sighed, and started typing.

Me: Hey, Itsuki, why did you not turn up to the café? I was waiting for an hour.

She inhaled a sharp breath and deleted the last sentence before pressing send.
She let her head flop onto a pillow. 5 minutes later, she got a response.

Itsuki : sorry, we were meant to meet?
Me: Yeah..?
Itsuki : oh sorry. Was playing with friends.

Yashiro stared at her phone, feeling tears well in her eyes once again. She closed her app and put her face back into the pillow, sobbing like before.

'Think about something else. Anything else. Anything at all.'

Her thoughts immediately flicked to Hanako. Of course, he was the thing that was dominating her mind lately. She couldn't quite realise why. But she thought it was due to the guilt she was feeling so strongly.

Her and Hanako hadn't talked for 2 days, but to Yashiro, it felt like forever. She reminisced on all of the wonderful memories she had with him. How he would pester her in class, which she wouldn't admit, but she actually kinda liked it.

How he would laugh with her while she cleaned the bathrooms. How he watered her plants over the weekend when she couldn't see him. She sighed into her pillow.

How he had saved her life.

Hanako was the reason Yashiro was alive. Hanako was...he was her friend. And he meant a lot to her.

She hated to admit it, but she felt so alone without him.

She thought for a moment.

'I need to see him.'

〜♡〜

Hanako stared at his reflection in the mirror. He had been thinking. He completely discarded his apology for her, but he couldn't hold his feelings back much longer.
