Chapter 35: Demons and Withdrawing

Sanulus Empire, Grinich
May 16th, 1945
8:00 AM

Checkpoint Gordon had been Overrun. Grinich is one of the major cities, and the 12th "No Mercy" Daven Division was stationed there. Everyone was at unease including 1st Lieutenant Locust "Berzerk" Hurgh.

"Just 2 months before I can finally go home, Korn!" Ranted Locust to a fellow officer.

"Lucky bastard, I got 2 years left." Said 1st Lieutenant Korn, a long-time friend of Locust. "What are you gonna do after you get home anyway?"

"See my wife and kids of course. And to see what happened to the town after the projects."

"Send me a photo of how it looks after you leave."

"I'll be sure to do that."

Then a fireball hit a poor Private.

"ENEMY ATTACK! EAST GATE!" Shouted a Sergeant Firing his I-62 Assualt Rifle.

"Remember, fear is a foreign concept to us!" Locust Shouted the motto of the Sanulus Military as he unholstered his R-20 Revolver and his sword specifically designed to kill demons in one swing.

The City's sky immediately became filled with fireballs downing some kites and damaging several skyscrapers. The Sanulus Artillery rockets began to rain down their fireballs killing many of the Eldritch abominations but it did not stop them all.

The demons have rapidly reached the minefields blowing them up into glorious giblets but they were very persistent. (Rorke's drift started playing lol.)

They trampled the barbed wires, merely climbing over them. As they approached a voice boomed over the city.

"YOU SHOULD HAVE KILLED ME NO MERCYS!"

"Well, if you haven't jumped into that hole we would ya bloody wanka'!" Retorted a voice on a loudspeaker.

And then the infamous Demon Prince appeared.

"Get ready men, this is god's test to us! And be proud to be a part of it!" Shouted Locust.

The Prince stomped through the thick hordes of Demons rushing through.

"This is the Colonel, fall back to the 2nd layer of defense. I repeat, fall back to the 2nd layer." The Radio said

"You heard 'em. Fall back!" Ordered Korn as he began to drag Locust who was manning a TY-90 Machinegun.

"Oi! What the hell are you doing? Get me back on that Mg!" Shouted Locust still holding the trigger.

"You got a god damn family to think about you idiot!" Yelled Korn.

They began to run to the 2nd layer with bullets, rockets, tank shells, and fireballs going over their heads. The squad just got behind the 2nd layer when a Demonic explosion had gone off behind them.

"Keep firing until I see those guns glow red!" Shouted an officer."

But, as they committed to that strategy the Demon Prince turned a corner to them.

"You shall die!" Taunted the Demon Prince.

"We'll die before you finish us haha!" Taunted back a sergeant.

Bullets echoed in the distance pinging off the Demon. As they were making a tactical retreat an Oracan appears out of nowhere. It immediately blasts a hole through the Prince killing it sending it tumbling down onto the pavement. But the battle was not over yet. There were still hundreds of Demons in the city. And they're not willing to give it up so easily.
