I woke up to the sound of water splashing around me. It was a pleasant sound, and soothed my aching head. My eyes felt too heavy to open them, and the cool breeze against my face made me want to stay there and continue sleeping. This was like a dream, sleeping near water, with a wonderful wind.

Then it hit me. Why was I near water?

I forced myself to open my eyes, no matter how terrible that felt. I realized that I was in the middle of a big sea or maybe an ocean, with no land in sight, in what looked like an almost deserted looking ship. I couldn't see anyone nearby, so I tried to get up. My body felt unbelievably tired and heavy, but I continued my effort and finally got up.

I got out of the small half-cabin I was in, glad I wasn't tied up, and was amazed by what I saw. The view, which was now completely visible to me, was enchanting. I had always wanted to go sailing sometime in my life. But then, where am I and why am I here?

I moved to the deck and saw the back of a man as he steadily steered the ship. My eyes widened. I knew this person even before he turned around; it was Theo.

"Where are we?" I half-yelled, suddenly feeling panicky.

He turned around and saw me.

"Good morning," he smiled.

"What's good about it? You freaking kidnapped me?!"

"I didn't have an option, Avis."

"Oh for god's sake, I'm Avalon, not Avis. First your dad, now you!"

"You are not Avalon. That name was given to you to overshadow your real name; your real identity."

"That's pretty cool, huh? One week of you coming into my life and you decide that the name I've had for sixteen years was fake?" The soft sea waves didn't matter anymore. I was angry and I was going to show it.

"I know this all going to sound insane to you, it would sound insane to anyone, but it's true. You are Avis," he said, his voice unbelievably calm and gentle.

"I am Avalon!"

"No, you are not. You are Avis Rae Black, the princess of Escait."

"Princess?" If this situation wasn't so serious, I would be laughing hard right now. Seriously, who believed in that stuff? "And what the hell is Escait?"

"Yes, you are a princess. The missing princess."

"What is Escait?" I repeated. We weren't getting anywhere with this princess conversation anytime soon.

"Escait is an island in the southern-Pacific ocean, somewhere in the middle of Australia and South America."

"In all my geography classes, I've never heard about it. Don't mess with me Theo!"

"And you wouldn't have, because we have successfully hidden the land from the invading eyes of the world."

"Oh for the love of God! Do you think I'm stupid enough to believe in that? It's the twenty first century, you kept this place hidden for these many years?"

"We did. And you are the daughter of Sir Clifton James Black, the king of Escait."

"You've gone crazy. I'm the daughter of Stephen Jones, the king of shipping magnates in New York and a lot of USA."

"That's what you've been brought to believe, Avis," he replied softly.

"I'm Avalon!" I yelled again.

"Calm down, will you? I know this sounds completely lunatic, but it's the truth. The truth that was hidden from you for years!"

"And why was it hidden from me?"

He looked down at his feet. "I don't know. Nobody knows. But you are our princess, Avis... I don't know how to explain all this to you; I'll probably make a mess out of it or break your heart... But there's no other way to do this. I know you have questions but you have to listen to me Avis."

"Where are we right now? And how long have I been asleep?"

"A few days. We're quite close to Escait now."

"Days?! You kept me out for days?! I could have died of dehydration or something!"

"Relax, okay? I took the precautions! And you're still alive right?"

I let put a frustrated scream.

"Just take me home!"

"That's where I'm taking you, Avis. To your home, your real home. And trust me, your parents and your brother are going to be so very happy."

"Right! The parents who managed to lose me, and then sent you after sixteen years to find me! And the brother who..."

Brother?

"I have a brother...?"

"Yes, you do. And he's going to be the happiest man on earth to have his little sister back."

"Oh..."

I always wanted a sibling, even more so a brother, now that I think of it. But it was still hard wrapping my mind around the fact that all these years, I hadn't been living the right life.

"What's his name?" I asked slowly.

"Miles," Theo responded. "Miles Denver Black. Out of everything I told you, this caught your interest?" He asked, looking a little amused.

I shot another glare at him.

"How can you be sure it's me? Maybe I'm not your lost princess!"

"You are. You're a splitting image of your mother - brunette with natural blonde streaks, bluish-violet eyes, the face structure - everything."

"That's not enough evidence!"

"That day at your house, your baby pictures seemed to match the ones we had left with us. And that song you were humming? It's an old Escaitan melody."

"What's the chance that I'll remember a song after some fifteen years?!"

"I don't know, Avis. But I'm sure you're the one I've been looking for."

"I was living a happy normal life till you came... Why didn't you just leave me alone?"

"Normal maybe... But you were not happy, Avis. That was obvious - so don't even bother denying it."

I fell silent.

He was right, I was not happy. I was okay, but not happy. How could he read me like this, like a book?

"Maybe you should sit down, and we can talk then," he suggested, pointing to a bench nearby. I sat down. I didn't really have anything else to do.

"So where do I start?" He asked.

"The beginning."

------------

So? How's it? The princess of Escait, Avis Rae Black. Please don't say these chapters are boring; they are needed to create the base of the story. I mean, I need to explain what Escait and stuff is, right? So bear with me and I promise it gets better.

And could you guys please suggest titles for this book other than Chaotic? I'd be happy to receive suggestions!
