He rubbed his hand on the walls, making it a bit visible.
"Yes, this is the point," he murmured, though I wasn't too sure of what he was talking about.
He took out something which looked like a hammer, and pressed it hard against the wall, till he couldn't possibly press harder; and a tiny part of the wall began to give way.
I stared at it, surprised. But of course, they had to create a way outwards. The hole became a little larger, and only enough to take in one human being at a time.
"Get in fast," he said, pushing me into the whole before following me. He pulled a lever and the doorway shut, making it absolutely dark. He took a stone lying around and rubbed it agsinst the rock wall, creating enough sparks for me to take in the tunnel. It was small and claustrophobic, and completely dark when he stopped rubbing the stone; but I think it would be manageable. But there was a problem. They wouldn't call it the Terror Tunnel for no reason, right?
"This tunnel," Theo said, "is full of crazy challenges to drive away anyone who might find the island. It's going to be difficult for you to cross it, since you haven't been trained for it."
I gave him a horrified glance. Like I wasn't scared enough already!
"And I hope that you've got your strength and stamina with you; because we're going to have to swim through most of the way."
I nodded. That was not that big of a problem; I was a good swimmer.
"Alright, so let's start moving," said Theo.
I started crawling into the tunnel. It was pitch black and I couldn't see anything, making it scarier and riskier, and our movement was the only sound available. The harsh rock was beginning to tear my jeans and my hands would soon start hurting if they kept rubbing with the rough texture. But I didn't have an option so I kept moving, Theo right behind me.
I think we crawled for some ten minutes, and my jeans and my hands were a mess. I wasn't sure how longer I would be able to move, but Theo relieved me by asking me to stop. I got off my knees and sat down as best I could in the small tunnel, and I think Theo did the same.
"This tunnel will soon turn a sharp ninety degrees, downwards. Don't try to prevent the fall - or you'll end up hurting yourself," he informed me.
No. Suddenly, I wasn't too sure if I could do this.
"Avis? Are you okay?" Came Theo's concerned voice.
No I'm not.
"Y... Yeah I think..." I tried.
"No you're not okay. It's only a little fall, yeah? Just a few seconds; before you land into water..."
I gulped. Good thing that there was water, but I was still scared.
Theo sighed behind me.
"Okay, let's do this together. You should feel safer."
"How?" I asked, confused.
In response, I felt his strong arms wrap themselves firmly around my waist; and he moved closer to me, till I was almost sitting on his outstretched legs. He started moving us forward slowly, till I felt the edge of the tunnel turn. Pretty soon, our legs were dangling over the hole.
"You know you're safe, right?"Theo gently whispered in my ear.
I shakily nodded my head.
"You can do this, Avis."
And with that, he pushed us forward and we fell down the hole. A small scream escaped my mouth. Theo's arms were tight around me and I buried my face in his chest out of fear. But he was right - the tunnel soon ended and we fell down with a splash into cool water.
I didn't let go of Theo, still afraid.
"Hey, it's over," he whispered, as we emerged from the water again.
I opened my eyes, and found us in another dark space, except that this one was not as dark and had water as far as I could see. Except a little spot to our left, which was land. Still in Theo's arms, I felt myself being carried to that little rock. He settled down on it, and I looked up at him, barely able to make out the contours of his face.
"Relax, Avis... I'm sorry, I should have told you about this tunnel before," Theo said.
"Of course you should have! There's a lot of stuff you should have told me before!" I said as I started hitting his hard chest with all my might. He began to laugh and I shot him a glare which I doubt he even saw.
"Okay now, that's enough," he said between his laughter, and suddenly removed his arms from my waist - only to wrap them around my shoulders in a tight grip, successfully disabling my hitting hands.
I groaned as i struggled to free myself, but to no avail. I gave up and went still, suddenly aware of the closeness between us. But more than awkward, it felt safe; making me finally relax.
"So what's next?" I ask.
"Ever been swimming in the dark?"

Alright, I know that was short, but how was it? I think that was their first "cute" moment, though it was hardly anything. Guys please vote and comment! Love you!
