When I was a little girl I once experienced a spooky event that happened to me back then when I was in middle school. My mom and I used to live in the village of Sarcoma where it is now abandoned for several years. All the people living there in the village left including us on the same day since the cries of the crows are heard at night.
My mother told me a story about the past in the village of Sarcoma it is said that when people hear the cries of crows at night they will encounter bad luck and something unusual will go inside every house and scare them to death. She said it wasn't just a beast or a monster that haunts, but it is creepy and will scare you for the rest of your life.
At first, I felt shivers when I heard Mom's story but as it went by I realized that I shouldn't be afraid of not until I encountered it on my own. It was 9:00 in the evening when we all heard the sound of the crows flying, flapping of wings could be heard from above and all the people in the village were flustered including my mother.
She looked worried and somehow acted strangely, I was surprised when she ran over to the door and locked it including the windows and she also closed the curtains. She was immense in holding my hand hoping the sound of the crows was gone.
She then looked me in the eyes and said "Don't make a sound" At first I didn't understand what she meant at that time but I was most certain there would be some trouble if we caused a sound so I kept my mouth shut and just nodded to her.
I'm still a young kid and everyone will listen to what they've been told even when you have no idea what's going on. When the sound of the crows was gone and everything went back to normal my mom heaved a deep sigh presuming she felt relieved of the situation. I just stood there still not saying anything and looked at my mother, she then gave me those worried-looking eyes again.
"You okay sweetie?" She asked, I just nodded in response and chose not to talk. "I think it's gone" she added.
"What is gone, Mother? " I asked as I wanted to know what she spoke of.
"Bad luck will happen if we react to the crows" she only said and pulled my hand.
She walked me into my room and insisted that I fall asleep. "You should sleep now sweetie, mommy will be here" She kissed my forehead and sang me a soft lullaby.
I can't sleep at that time, so I just pretend to sleep and close my eyes without my mom knowing that I'm still awake. She then said goodnight to me when I heard the door close I once opened my eyes and was still thinking about what just happened a while ago. I looked at my wall clock it was already 10:00 in the evening. My senses were still awake and I couldn't fall asleep, suddenly I heard a tapping sound, it sounded like someone was tapping the glass window. I looked over where I heard it and saw my window. The curtain covering the window is half covered and If I stand in front of it I can peek outside.
My mind tells me not to look, but my body does it eventually so I stand up from my bed and gently walk through my window. My eyes widened when I saw an eye staring right at me. It was red and I could feel the rage when looking at that eye. I screamed as loud as I could until my lungs fell out, my mother burst in the door and hugged me.
"What's wrong dear? What just happened? Why are you screaming?" She asked.
I still stand like a hopeless kid and can't speak straight. "I've seen- I've seen so-something" I spoke in a stuttered voice.
"What did you just see?" She was looking at me worriedly I didn't have the guts to tell her and pointed my hand at the window.
She slowly looked to where I was pointing and then she quickly closed the curtains and pulled me away from my bedroom.
"What did you do?" She asked me as if I had done something wrong. I didn't talk for 5 seconds until she shook me with her hands, "I said what did you do?" She angrily said so as if I wasn't her daughter.
"I walked through the door and saw it". She just laughed and acted like some random person, I'm almost certain she wasn't my mother anymore.
Two days passed that time and still, my mom acted suspiciously, she would never go out of the house and never cook supper for us, one of our neighbors was worried about our condition since we never left the house. After some time my mother died due to some uncertain cause, I never thought she would die that easily since she's been healthy all her life. Some of our neighbors took pity on me and took me to raise their own.
I didn't talk too much and stayed quiet for almost a year. When my new parents asked me why my mother died I just told them I don't know and what happened since we both saw the red eye. They were surprised to hear it and taken aback by my words. They responded to me with bizarre information, they said whoever saw the red eye would lose their soul and become crazy as if someone would control their body, my mother must have taken it with effect that's why she acted that way.
Since I was a little kid, I was the least to be manipulated by it. It always happens when crows are flying at night many are victimized by the Red Eye, and a lot of people in the village don't have any idea where it came from. They are scared to death and don't go out at night or even stay awake after hearing the crows. After some time each of us left the village and lived elsewhere away from that cursed place. Now that it's been abandoned I'm almost certain that one day some people will go there and stay at that place to investigate, it will be too harsh on them if they hear the crows at night especially if they don't have an idea where they are going to see the Red eye.
