Chapter 10 - Kyoro
Not again! I thought to myself after beginning stab on the back and leg.I remember the dreadful day that happened a few years ago...
"Another beautiful day!" I giggled,spreading my hands wide as the cool breeze blew.
"Kyoro! " my mom shouted from a distance behind. "Don't go too far out there!"
"But mom!" I groan as she dragged me back to the house.
"How many times must I tell you not to go beyond the fences of our house?"
I pouted and folded my arms. Recalling how many times I had been gone beyond the fences, I had never once met in trouble. I just wondered why Mum doesn't let me go beyond those fences.
I have never thought of it, until it happened...
"Kyoro!Wake up!" Mum screamed, squeezing a heart necklace into my palm. She then push me out of the house and told me to go to Anteiku.
Not long, gunshots was heard.
"Kyoro! Hurry! Hide here!" Mom pointed to a narrow space between the dusty wall and the old washing machine.
I then realised that there was a hidden room there. I quietly hide it there while mom covered the top with a big blanket.
"Surrender yourself!" I heard an officer yelled.
There's gunshooting sounds following by shouting and yelling. Suddenly, it became totally silence. I took a peek at the small gap between washing machine and the wall. To my horror, it was...mom.
Her lifeless body laid on floor and blood was splattered everywhere.
"M-Mom...? " Tears tricked down my eyes as I tried to reach for her.Leaving the hidden room and pushing the blanket aside, I came in contract with her cold yet warm body. "Mom...don't scare me...it's not funny! Wake up!"
I tried calling her up but to no avail. I frozed. A life without anyone close to you is unthinkable. I couldn't cry,I couldn't laugh. I held her body up and hugged her, for the last time.
Life after the harsh experience was tough, I had to worry for my meals, shelter and safely. But whenever I feel down, I will always look at the necklace my mom gave me. Her beautiful smile gave me the courage and confident to continue life.
I was struggling to find Anteiku. But unknowingly , I got lost. I seek for the nearest shelter, which is an abandoned building.
