Ep 14. Safe Place (Part 1)

"no no...plz...don't go...Hyung....HYUNG"

Jaemin woke up from Jeno's grunt. Jeno woke up with sweat on his face too. Jaemin switched on the table lamp and Jeno was now sitting on the bed. Jaemin was about to move from the bed but Jeno hold him to stop going out from bed.

"let me get you water...hmm" Jaemin softly held Jeno's arm and said. Jeno nodded after a minute. He seemed to have a terrible nightmare.

Jaemin quickly grabbed a water bottle and back to their bedroom. He gave it to Jeno and Jeno drank a few. Jeno looked calmer than before and Jaemin silently sitting beside him.

Jaemin softly rubbed in a circle motion on Jeno's back and Jeno looked at him. Jaemin tried to control his tone but his worry tone exposed;

"Seemed like you had a bad dream"

"I....I....had a dream about....Hyung." Jeno said in hesitation as he thought about his nightmare again. Jaemin got closer to Jeno and gave him a side hug, putting his head on Jeno's shoulder.

"I was playing game with Hyung...we looked so happy...suddenly Hyung was covered in blood and he started walking away." Jeno was looking at nothing and said. Jaemin can feel the sadness in Jeno's words. He tightened his hold as if he wanted Jeno to know he was trying to comfort him.

"I pleaded him to not go....but he left anyway...." Jeno breathe heavily as he was trying not to cry.

"it's okay to cry...Jeno ah...it's okay." Jaemin said softly and Jeno looked at him with teary eyes. Jaemin can see that Jeno was trying hard to stop those tears from falling.

Jaemin pulled Jeno into a hug, letting his head rest on his shoulder. He slowly rubbed Jeno's back in a circle motion.

"you should mourn for him as much as you want" Jaemin said almost in a whisper. Jaemin remembered that Mrs.Lee said she wasn't sure about Jeno cried for losing his brother yet. He thought this might be a good chance to let Jeno open his mind and cry out his feeling that he has been bottled up for a while.Jeno hugged Jaemin tightly as if he was afraid to be left alone.

"you can be sad or cry in front of me even if you don't want to show your sadness to anyone.It's okay." Jaemin can feel Jeno's tear on his shoulder.

"I miss them so much" Jeno said in his cries. Jaemin felt his heart sunk upon hearing those words from Jeno. How could he hide his sadness all the time?_Jaemin felt heartache for him. Jaemin also got teary eyes as Jeno cried harder.

After a while, Jeno stopped crying and leaning on Jaemin's shoulder as if he was taking a rest. Jeno firstly broke their hug and rubbing his nape cuz he was a bit shy after crying in front of Jaemin.

Jaemin gave him the water bottle again and Jeno took it. After drinking water, Jeno let out a sigh.

"sorry..." Jeno said almost in a whisper and avoiding to face Jaemin.

"there is nothing to be sorry Jeno ah..." Jaemin made Jeno to face him by pulling his face gently. Jeno still looked a bit sad and Jaemin put his hand on Jeno's face softly.

"how could a person not cry when he lost his dear one? It is just normal to cry out. I cried a lot and I might cry later too. I know you acted tough for others but you can be an emotional bean in front me Honey." Jaemin again assuring him that he don't have to act tough in front of him all the time.

Jeno felt like the burden on his heart was lessen after hearing Jaemin's words. His brother has been his safe place that he could show all kind of emotion. He couldn't even cry properly in front of his parents especially his mom. He wanted to assure them that they can rely on him too.
