It's been a few days since Bombay and I made up. Should I start calling him dad now?
Eh. We'll see.
Bombay called the whole team to meet him at a hockey store to get actual gear. Apparently he knew the owner. Hans.
"Can you believe he's getting us real gear?" Charlie asked when Ms. Conway dropped us off.
"It is cool. I wonder if its because of what I said to him or cause he's taking his coaching job seriously now." I wonder out loud.
"Maybe both." Charlie said as we went inside.
Everyone was already there making a mess of the place.
Bombay told us he managed to get his old boss to sponsor us and give us the money.
I laughed when I saw Goldberg fall when he was trying on goalie equipment.
"Y/n come check out the sticks with me." Charlie said.
I followed him and he tried picking one up only for a whole bunch to fall over.
He then tried playing it off like he didn't do it.
"Good job Charlie. Nice." I said sarcastically.
"It wasn't my fault." He defended himself and we started picking all the sticks up.
"How wasn't it your fault? You caused them all to fall." I laughed poking him with one end of the stick I was holding.
"It wasn't on purpose." He said as we put the last of them back.
I turned and saw Peter walking with a whole bunch of equipment. He was even carrying a glove with his mouth. I wondered how he was able to carry it all.
I went to go and get gear for myself when I saw Fulton Reed getting a hockey stick out of the fake ice display for Charlie.
I wondered if he actually liked hockey and if all the rumors with him were true.
"Who is that kid?" Bombay asked me.
"That's Fulton Reed. He's in one of my classes." I answered.
"Why isn't he on the team?" Bombay asked.
"He only plays football." Jesse appeared. "Some preppie school gave him a scholarship as long as he doesn't play hockey."
"That's the rumor anyway." I said.
"I heard it was colleges." Guy said. Where the hell did he come from? "He's already been accepted to four of them."
"Again that's the rumor." I reminded them.
"Yeah, but I heard he's gotta repeat the sixth grade." Goldberg injected.
I saw that Bombay was thinking through something, so I left him to do just that.
I saw that the total for all the equipment was $7, 242.08.
Wow that's a lot.
After that we went to the ice rink to get into our new gear and practice some.
There was saw Tammy and Tommy Duncan ice skating. They were pretty good.
"Anybody know who they are?" Bombay asked.
"That's Tommy Duncan. He's in my science class." I told him.
"And that's his sister Tammy." Terry said dreamily. Boys.
"Think they would want to play hockey with us?" Bombay asks.
We all say yeah.
"Okay, go get dressed. I'm gonna do some negotiating." Bombay says.
