When I woke up the next day I had almost forgotten what had happened the night before. Almost. I wish I had been able to talk to Charlie about what I had talked to Adam about. I didn't want to say anything last night since he was already upset. I didn't know how he would react. I laid in bed a few minutes longer before I remembered I had things to do today. The first thing I had to do was get my laundry from the dryer and put Charlies in the dryer.
I unlocked my door and peeked my head out and listened to hear if anyone was up. I didn't hear anything so I went out. I made it to the dryer, took my stuff, and switched Charlies clothes. I made it back to my room when I heard Charlie moving around in his. I quickly got into my room and closed and relocked the door as quietly as possible. I unloaded my clothes onto my bed and folded and put them all away. It normally takes me a few days to actually fold and put them away, but this time I decided not to mess up my room just yet.
A few hours later after hiding in my room, I heard the phone ring from the kitchen. I then heard Charlie run out of his room and answer it. I couldn't hear what was being said. A few minutes later I heard Charlie coming back to my door.
Knock knock.
"What?" I asked, not nearly as nicely as I normally would.
"Coach called. He wants the team to meet up. We got a new team member." I heard Charlie say.
"Who?" I ask finally opening the door.
When I saw Charlie I was shocked by his appearance. It looked like he hasn't slept all night.
"Fulton Reed." He answered.
"Really? I thought he wasn't allowed to play hockey." I was surprised.
"Turns out he can't play cause he doesn't know how to skate." Charlie said, I noticed he wouldn't look me in eye.
"Half our team couldn't skate either at one point." I said.
I saw Charlie suppress a smile.
"Yeah, well, Coach wants us all to meet so we can teach him how to skate." He explained.
"Meet where?" I asked.
"The mall." Charlie said, I could tell he didn't understand why though.
"The mall?" I couldn't help but repeat.
Charlie just nodded and shrugged.
About ten minutes later we were ready to go and met everyone at the mall. The whole journey there was weird. Normally Charlie and I are laughing and joking around but this time we skated in complete silence and we didn't skate next to each other. I skated in front of him.
Once we got there I saw the rest of the team, including Bombay and Fulton. Bombay was trying to steady Fulton on his new rollerblades.
"Aright team! Is everyone ready to teach Fulton here how to skate?" Bombay asked.
"Yeah!" We all shouted.
"Then lets go!" Bombay said.
With that we started. Bombay was instructing Fulton on how to move, balance, and stop. We then headed into the mall.
We all screamed and laughed as we rode through. I stayed with Bombay and Fulton, as Charlie lead the rest of the team. A bit later Bombay left the two of us to go to the front with Charlie. So it was up to me to teach Fulton.
"Push, Fulton, push. Keep your knees bent." I instructed Fulton.
He bent his knees and pushed his legs.
