Roman thrashed against the vines. He pulled his arms and kicked his legs but to no avail. Every vine he managed to snap, two more wrapped around him in its place.
"I've got to warn Virgil." He thought. His thoughts were scattered and foggy with panic but that one seemed to set the world a little. "I need to warn Virgil. He's got to get out of here, even if I don't."
Roman opened his mouth to scream. He had no clue if Virgil could hear him or not but he was going to try.
"Vir-" Before he'd even started, three vines wrapped around his neck. They squeezed, cutting off his air. The rest of the word was turned into a strangled cry.
Now Roman twisted and fought even more. These vines were going to kill him. He had to get away. He wriggled his arm out of a couple of the vines and tried to rip the vines from his neck. But more vines trapped his hand against his throat and these ones had thorns. They dug into his skin and Roman could feel blood trickle down his hand.
He was running out of air. White flashes dotted his vision. Darkness threatened to close in completely. He blinked furiously and shook his head. It didn't help.
Roman's head hit the floor with a thud as he stopped struggling.
"Vir-!"
Virgil's head snapped up at the strangled cry. It sounded like Roman. Speaking of Roman, where was he? He should've been back by now.
Virgil furrowed his brows and pulled up a hologram. Two organic life forms. One was him and the other...
It must've been Roman. It couldn't have been anyone else. So why was the dot blinking?
Virgil lept up and stared into the forest. He cupped his hands around his mouth. "Princey?! Roman?!" He yelled.
No reply. Well, of course there wasn't. Virgil grabbed his cutting tool from his bag and bolted into the forest.
"Roman?! Roman?!" He yelled, growing more and more desperate. Wherever the fighter had gotten too, it couldn't be good if his big mouth was shut.
"Princey, where are ya?!" Virgil felt his voice break raw. He clapped a hand to his throat and forced himself to breathe. He wouldn't be able to find Roman if he had a panic attack.
While he forced himself to calm down, Virgil's eyes swept the forest floor. There was a droid, (old, rusted R2-. Worth basically nothing) overturned by a tree. The soil around it was thrown up in great divots. Like there'd been a struggle.
Roman.
Virgil set off into a sprint. The forest around him seemed to breathe, to move. Trees rustled, vines swung in the breeze, roots reached out to trip him up. Virgil ignored it all. He had to find Roman. Otherwise he'd never get off this planet.
"Princey?!" He called again. No reply. Either Roman wasn't replying out of spite or something very bad had happened to him.
A thud turned Virgil's head. Roman was tangled in vines on the floor, unconscious, and his face was slowly losing colour. Then, before Virgil's very eyes, the vines tugged Roman away.
"Oh, I think the fuck not." Virgil hissed and switched on his cutting tool.
First the vines around Roman's neck fell, singed at the ends. A growl rumbled through the forest, knocking Virgil off his feet. He managed to cut through the vines around Roman's arms before one grabbed his leg.
"Get off!" He screamed, whacking at it with his cutting tool. It fell limp - almost dead - with a whine. Virgil lept to his feet and cut through the vines around Roman's legs. Desperate, he kicked Roman in the side.
"Wake up, ya great idiot, we got company!" He said in a panic. "And I can't fight this whole forest by myself." Virgil yelped as a vine reached down and grabbed his wrist. He cut it and shook it off his arm. The feeling lingered and he shivered. "Though it looks like I'll have to."
I'm back!
And this is what you get... I'm very tired.
Bye,
Blaize
