A/N: You get ONE counting ONE warning. Rated M, anything conceivably good and bad can happen. Enjoy!
I was able to come to quickly come to the conclusion that I was reincarnated the moment I heard the words:
"He's a boy!"
There was also the fact that I remained in possession of all my old memories. If that wasn't a dead giveaway to begin with then I don't what is. That alongside being able to be aware of this situation at all probably was enough. Of all my experiences so far this is probably the weirdest thing to have happened to me, but at least it seemed things could only go up from here. Or downwards depending on how you perceive it. As the next things that I heard struck me like a eight wheel truck would a toddler wandering off into the middle of a freeway.
"Oh he's so handsome! Let's name him... War... Warui!" A woman's voice croaked out like a toad, and my tiny body with raised close to her face. Her face uncomfortably reminiscent of of a certain tubby yellow clothed rival to Mario. Or if you want to keep it simple: She looked like a older feminine Wario.
I actually almost thought she was going to say Wario there for a second... considering she literally looks like him. So with that in mind I'm not sure how confident I should feel about my appearance when she called me handsome. But at least Warui is a pretty cool sounding name, if something good is to be taken out of my initial post reincarnated state. What and where am I anyway?
Having just died at the ripe old age of twenty I was pretty curious what sort of situation my consciousness has been thrown into. The environment around me wasn't anything that looked like a hospital. It had more of a fancy medieval noble vibe to it.
It lacked any visible modern technology yet was finely decorated with expensive looking wallpaper, carpets, other miscellaneous decorations, and... a portrait of someone who looked an awful lot like Zelda with a Triforce symbol on her dress, next to another older but thinner Wario lookalike. Wearing yellow robes but not the yellow overalls.
Talk about an ancestor.
I doubted Zelda was a relative though, or if so then a really faraway one. We probably had the portrait just to show respect to the royal family or something. I don't know if I can comprehend Zelda having Wario of all people as a distant cousin... I mean not to disrespect him though, he is one of my favorite characters, it's more the distinct lack of resemblance that really gets me.
Having made this observation I made a small guess that I had been displaced somewhere in the past... how long and where exactly besides maybe Hyrule I have no clue. But apparently "Wario's" extended family were rich as far as I could see. So would that make him part Hylian then? Guess that explains Wario's pointy ears.
I wasn't sure why I was here to be honest besides my rather specific means of death via truck-kun. My life before had been rather uneventful. I had gone to school... got a part time job, my drivers license, and then... I tragically died the classic isekai way! By Truck-kun, which was the most probable reason for me being here.
I hadn't made too many friends in the past, and haven't had much in the way of job or financial success nor was I particularly inclined to do anything about it. I had nothing motivating me and I was a bit of a lazy sadomasochist that didn't care much for anything other then engaging in my favorite hobbies and engaging in the pleasures of life. I merely went with the flow doing as I pleased, within the confines of the law and what was socially acceptable as to not make my life complicated, as one might say.
The only interests I had were playing video games, dabbling in video game design, watching anime, cartoons, youtube videos, reading manga, and countless fanfiction... absolutely nothing but indulging myself in various consumable medias.
