potions and pranks

cora's pov

my eyes flutterd open to ginny running around the room frantically. "ginny what the actual fuck are you doing" i muttered. "i cant find my socks" she said frantically. "did you check your trunk" i asked. she stops and checks her trunk and pulls out a pair of knee socks. "thanks" she said blushing in embarassment.

now that i was abruptly awoken i decide i should take a shower since i had so much time before breakfast. after i finished showering i put on my white long sleeve button up and my red plaid skirt with knee socks. i did my makup which consisted of mascara, shimmer eye shadow, hilighter, and lip gloss. i finished off my look with my rings and chain necklaces.

"wow cora how are you so pretty" ginny said as i step out of the bathroom. "aw ginny you are the sweetest" i said blushing at her compliment. 

I look over to a picture on ginnys nightstand "is that the rest of your family" i asked. "yeah i have three other brothers charlie, percy, and bill" she said pointing to each brother. the weasley family had really good genes they are all beautiful. 

"wow ginny your family has amazing genes" i said to her. "thank you cora" she said blushing at my statment. "bill is very fine" i blurted out. "ew cora" ginny said laughing. "what" i said giggling.

"hey cora are you excited for your first day" hermione asked walking out of the bathroom. "yeah im excited but nervous too" i admited to her. "dont be nervous we all got your back. let me see your schedule" hermione said. 

I grabbed my schedule off my dresser and handed it to her. "cora we have advanced charms, and astronomy together" hermione said excitedly. "no way. damn you must be really smart" i said to her. "we should go to breakfast guys. are you all ready" ginny asked. "yep. lets go" i said walking out of the room the girls follow behind me.

on the walk to the great hall i was actually able to appreciate the interior of the castle it is stunning. knowing that hermione is in a few of my classes makes me feel a bit better. the great hall was full of excited students gorging on breakfast food. the smell is amazing a mix of pancakes, bacon, and oranges. 

I follow ginny and hermione to the gryffindor table where harry, ron, and the twins are sitting. "morning everyone" i said flashing a smile. "morning cora" the twins said at the same time. "that was terrifying never do that again" i said laughing.

"so how was your first night cora" ron asked me. "it was good i slept amazing! the beds here are really comfortable plus, i have two amazing roommates" i said smiling. "oh my god guys cora said bill was and i quote 'very fine'" ginny said laughing. "ew" ron said layghing. "bill is too old for you" fred said with not much emotion. 

"let me see your schedule" george said changing the topic. i pull my schedule out of my pocket and hand it to the twins. after a few seconds i saw their eyes light up. "cora we have almost every class with you" george said happily while fred just smiled. "no way! which ones" i asked. "care of magical creatures, potions, astronomy, and defense against the dark arts" george said. "great four out of five of my classes are with you two" i said jokingly.

we all finished breakfast and headed to our first classes. potions was first so i walked to the class with the twins. "so you know how you said you would want to prank with us" fred said. "of course" i said. "we have a prank planned for tonight its going to be amazing! we are going to rig the great hall with fire works tonight so they will go off tomorrow at breakfast" George said. 

"sounds wicked im in. what time" i asked. "tonight. meet us in the common room at 9" fred said. "sounds good to me" i said smiling at fred. i took a second to study him. he had really nice hair and his features were quite attractive. "take a picture it will last longer" fred said jokingly making me blush profusely at his comment.

the potions classroom was dark but nice looking with tables, cauldrons, supplies in the back, and a teachers desk at the front of the room with a angry looking man sitting at the desk. "dont sit down im assigning partners this term" he said flatly to us. 

we stood in the back of the room for a few minutes until everyone arrived. "alright class welcome to potions. i am professor snape" the angry looking man said. im going to go over partners now so listen carefully. once you hear your name go sit with your partner" snape instructed. 

he starts going over the partners with george sitting with some gryffindor boy and fred with a hufflepuff girl. "cora rose and cedric diggory" snape said. i look over to see the boy from the train smiling at me.

"hey train girl" cedric chuckled sitting at the table with me. "hey" i said smiling at him. cedric and i talked for a while about classes and our first night while snape finished up giving partners. "okay class settle down. we are going to be brewing a simple potion today the dizziness draught. you may begin" snape finished. 

I instantly grab the ingredients we needed listed in the book. one of the ingredients was on the top shelf and me being only 5'5 i couldnt quite reach it even on my tip toes. "need some help" i hear a familier voice say next to me. "yes please" i said smiling at fred. fred reached up and grabbed the ingredient being way taller than me it was a simple task for him. 

"thanks" i said to him. "no problem" he said smiling at me. "hey be careful with diggory he tends to be a sweet talker but he plays alot of girls and i just dont want you to get hurt" fred added. "um ok thanks" i said confused because cedric seems so nice i cant see how he could be like that.

cedric and i finished our potion first so we had a ton of time to talk. we talked about a lot of things such as him being on the quiddich team and how he wants to be in the tournament. he asked me alot of questions about me and america and things like that. when i talked he seemed really interested in what i was saying. it was nice to talk to someone and get lost in a conversation. 

"class is dismissed" snape said flatly. part of me is sad the class is over because i was really into that conversation. fred and george came up to my desk to walk me to our next class. "you ready" george asked. "yep lets go. bye cedric" i said. "bye cora. maybe we can finish this conversation later" he asked. "yeah sure" i said blushing.

on the way to DADA i talked to the twins about their plan to try to enter the tournament using an ageing potion. they seemed really excited about it so i didnt want to tell them that i didnt think it would work. other than that we chatted about the prank we are going to pull tonight and worked out some of the logistics of it.

the first day of classes flew by. all the nerves are gone and now i am only excited to be at hogwarts which i didnt really expect. the great hall was bustling when i arrived for dinner."hey cora" ginny said. "how was your first day" she added. "it was really good actually" i say smiling at the young ginger girl. 

across the hall i made eye contact with cedric who smiled at me. the twins look behind them to see who i was staring at. "looks like cora has a little crush on diggory" george said. "no way really" hermione exclaimed. "stop no i dont have a crush on anyone ive only been here for a day. we are just friends and potions partners and we happened to have a really amazing conversation" i said. "well he cant stop staring at you" ginny stated. i just continue eating my food and tried to diffuse the conversation.

"so cora any big plans for the night" ginny asked me sitting on her bed. "yeah im helping fred and george with a prank tonight" i said changing into sweats and a tshirt. "fun! just be careful fred and georges pranks tend to get them into detention" she said. "okay ill be careful" i reassured her. 

ginny, hermione and i talked until the clock hits 9. "alright guys i got to go i have two red haired boys waiting on me in the common room" i said getting up to leave. "ok be careful and good luck" ginny said.

i walk down the stairs and instantly spot the boys. "are we ready" i asked them. "we are more than ready" they said as they lead me out of the common room.
