Chapter 4

In the center of Russia:
???: Mustang.

Mustang: Yes Marshal?

Marshal Elric: Soooooooo I think my son has done something very stupid. Can you go check on him and see what he's done if he has done anything? Also take Hawkeye with you. She doesn't get much time off so take her.

Mustang: Yes sir. I'll report back here as soon as possible.

Captain Elric: No take your time. Just send me a letter stating what happened.

Mustang: Ok sir*leaves*

Captain Elric:*makes sure he leaves than rings up someone on his phone* Ok, operation getting Roy and Riza together is a go.

???: Really! That was quick! This is gonna be awesome! When they have children they can have awesome play dates with my perfect daughter!

Captain Elric: Uuuuuum ok. Just remember to talk to him about your daughter or he will get suspicious.

???: Got it!

Back to Mustang after he got Hawkeye and are on a train:

Riza: Mustang what do you think happened to the Captains son?

Roy: Don't know. But I think there's nothing wrong and just wanted for us to take some time off.

Riza: That sounds like the Captain.

Roy: It also sounds like Hughes.

Riza: Ya.

Silence was ok the air for most of the Train ride with occasional conversations. When they got to the home town of Captain Elric three days had passed and the two grew a little closer to each other.

Riza: Mustang. If it was a real emergency would the Captain have come here to see his son?

They walked a few feet from the train station before Mustang answered

Roy:*sigh* I don't know. He's been stressed with leading the main war front after barely getting better from the passing of his wife. It's put a lot of stress on to him. So he might have come or he wouldn't be able to because of the war. It's all unclear right now.

Riza: I know but it is still his son and he hasn't seen him for a while.

Roy: Who knows. Anyways we have to turn here.

Riza: Ok.

The two of them stayed quiet until they got to Gran Rockbells house. Mustang knocked on the door to see if they were home.

Gran Rockbell: ONE SECOND!

A couple of minutes passed before Gran Rockbell showed up at the door.

Gran Rockbell: Oh the military. Was Izuku's father to much of a Sissy to show up or what.

Roy: heh. No Ms. Rockbell the Captain just had a bad feeling that something bad happened to his son and told us to go check up and see if he was ok.

Gran Rockbell: Well his guy was right as always. Izuku has gotten into a big of how do I say it. Trouble.

Roy: What do you mean?

Riza: Mustang. His mom passed, his dad can't visit to cheer him up and he knows alchemy. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out.

Roy:*still confused*What do you. OH. He didn't.

Gran Rockbell: Sadly yes. He tried to transmute a human and bring his mom back.

Roy: Can we see him?

Gran Rockbell: Sure. He's been knocked out for the past two days. Plus he's missing two of his limbs and he looks very pale.

Riza: Oh. Do you know where he did the transmutation?

Gran Rockbell:*whilst bringing them to Izuku* Yes, he tried the transmutation in the basement of his old house.

Roy: Isn't that a little cliche?

Riza: Roy!

Roy: I'm just saying. Having the secret project done in the basement is so overused.

Gran Rockbell: Doesn't matter he tried, failed, and is know not in the best of shape*opens door* here he is.

There I front of the three of them was Izuku sleeping soundly deep into his coma with an arm and leg missing.

Roy: Well. You could say it costed him an a-

He was cut off by Riza jabbing him in the side with her elbow.

Riza: Mustang since you can't be mature enough you can go see what he attempted to do at his old house write up a report to the Marshal and come back here. I'll be talking to Ms. Rockbell here about Izuku until you get back.

Roy: Yes mam.

Mustang left the room then the house and made his way to the crime. As he approached the house he noticed the stench of a corpse almost immediately. He plugged his nose and went down to the basement flicked the light on and was shocked at what he saw. There before him was the failed making of a human that was so far from looking human at all and had blood surrounding it.

Roy: I can't believe the boy actually tried to do this.

Roy grabbed a sample and got away from the house before writing his report. He then walked back to the house to tell Riza what happened.

Roy: Hawkeye. He did try and do the transmutation. He failed it but it was surprisingly really well done.

Riza: Really? Huh. I don't know a lot about alchemy but I know that this is a taboo that you should never do. How serious is it really?

Roy: Well depending on how he did the mutation it can get him 10-20 years of prison but since he's a child and they don't go see vet this until high school level so so it might only be 5-10 years.

Riza: Ok. Well, I have found out a little more on Izuku. Whilst you were gone. He has been really depressed since his mom passed. He got excited when his dad said that he was going to gonna come home but then got depressed again because of the sudden civil war and him not being able to come visit. And then he started to keep a journal. Then lastly this happened.

Roy: Oh wow. Uh. Ya so I got a few samples and I have written and sent a letter to the Marshal. It says everything that I told you plus saying that I would like to stay here until Izuku wakes up and ask him some questions.

Riza: Ok.

Gran Rockbell*from other room*: If you need somewhere to stay I have a few extra rooms!

Roy: Well I guess I know where we'll be staying for the next few days.

Riza: I have no complaints.
